Mazda RX-8: Yay or nay? by 7PUAin Autos

I think the engine has a 100k/10yr warranty so I wouldn't worry too much. They are great cars and I loved mine while I had it. I say go for it.

The Orion Nebula with a 4.5" amateur telescope by NyxAitherin space

[–]zeoslap 0 points1 point ago

I don't think I stated my point very well. I agree looking through an actual telescope and seeing things with your own eyes is amazing even though you can't see details like this.

My actual point was that I don't get the allure of generating these composite images with amateur grade equipment. You don't get to see the thing in person and your results will never compare to the pros. But that's a bit of a downer view so I'm flipping back to whatever folks enjoy doing is fine by me :)

While that's cool it definitely takes some of the magic away when you can't actually see the thing in real time with just your eye and a telescope. I'd rather just download images obtained with someone else very expensive hardware if the net result is just looking at this stuff on a PC.

Ha! It gets better! Perhaps they could do a limited run, a bit like $2 bills in the US.

On a million dollar home you'd have had 20% down, perhaps a bit more so your mortgage is in the 700k-800k range which runs about $4k/mth.

The best Egan book is the set of short stories he did - Axiomatic.

39 with two kids and drive a Jag XJR - fantastic car. 390HP, 0-60 in 5.0secs and wafts along the highway. They are also very reasonably priced if you pick one up used because of the bunko depreciation.

Here here. Totally agree - if you earn the majority of your income via wages you are the 99% and should be behind their goals.

That's where you are wrong - just because you are earning a good wage doesn't mean that you blind to the egregious income disparity on display in the US.

Worth it to get my Omega restored? by Aeolisin Watches

[–]zeoslap -1 points0 points ago

A cheapo quartz watch will be more accurate and long lived than a mechanical one so whichever way you shake it owning/buying/repairing a mechanical watch isn't a value proposition, it's an emotional one. If it's worth it to you then it's worth it.
