At what point in your life did you stop believing in god(s) and what was the catalyst for the change? by TyrannosaurusRedditin atheism

[–]wrekd 1 point2 points ago

Not sure I ever truly believed in the Christian version of events, but finding Reddit and others "like me" helped legitimize my non-belief. Before that I mostly kept it to myself.

"An ignorant person is one who doesn't know what you have just found out" - Will Rogers by yevgeny_zamyatinin atheism

[–]wrekd 1 point2 points ago

I see it as ignor-ant.

Someone who could/should know, but doesn't because they ignore the facts to fit their own agenda. I think the most popular use is lacking knowledge; I see it as denying or ignoring the truth.

Smokers like me are ignorant about the true health effects. Creationists are ignorant of...well most science.

Am I ignorant of stuff I've never heard of? Maybe to some people, but I don't blame my kids for not know something they've never come across. But once you start to learn about something, then shut the door...that's were ignorance seeps in.

If Christians are against gay marriage because it "goes against god" why haven't they tried banning atheist marriage yet? by wettowelreactorin atheism

That's redundant. Now I have to go to the ATM Machine.

Bullshit self-fallating website thinks they caused the President to make a public statement due to an article they wrote.

You forget that the offending companies should also be held fully accountable for their actions (BP). This doesn't really happen now. Hell doctors in PA can't even tell patients that they have fracking fluids in their bodies.

In a display of participatory democracy unknown in the US, massive public protests in France have lead to a ban on planting Monsanto's genetically modified corn. by klmdin environment

[–]wrekd 1 point2 points ago

You’re not quite right about what's in my head, or my intended purpose. People just throw the word democracy around like it's inherently good. Like if you use it, it can only have positive meanings, no negative connotations. I don't see it that way. Like koreth said above, "mob rule" is another aspect of democracy.

Assuming an Obama v. Romney election, who would you vote for? by MPLS_MNin Libertarian

[–]wrekd 1 point2 points ago

Your whole post makes little sense. Your title asked who you would vote for, but in the subject you try to change it to asking our opinion of an Obama/Romney election. What is it you actually want to know? Personally, I'll write in or just not vote. That answers the title questions. As for an opinion on Obama vs Romney election: It'll fucking suck and not be worth watching since I won't vote for the lesser of two evils ever again.

Do the French have a democracry? Oh wait...they don't, and neither do we. And who cares anyways? Long live the Republic!

After seeing that for the first time, I now feel I am owed partial independent thought ownership of said materials, or types, or...you know other catagories of stuff about stuff like this. PERIOD!

I saw it for the first time today. You're right, that its not an ad, but without a repost I never would have saw it.

I think it's about the message being spread, not who did it first for the bestest karma.

FTA: "And it could be working because soon after the blessing, HFA president Ellen Beth Wachs was arrested twice in Polk County, once for misrepresenting herself as a practitioner of law and once for lewd and lascivious behavior, according to CBS Tampa."

Misleading title? She didn't end up in jail because they cleaned the roads.
