Nokia releases City Lens augmented reality beta app for Lumia Windows Phones | The Verge by akumenin windowsphone

Very impressive, even returns a tonne of results for my village of 1000 in the UK.

Recently I was told about "true hunger" that you feel in your throat. Also, hunger we feel in our stomach is supposedly caused by withdrawal from unhealthy eating? Is there any substantial backing to this? by FizzyEnemain askscience

[–]willebrord_snellius 0 points1 point ago

I'm not saying throat hunger is true hunger, but I know exactly what they're talking about with that expression. I used to be an extremely fussy eater, if I went through a bad patch where I didn't eat properly for a while I got 'throat hunger'. If it was really bad it even caused me to burp a little.

I don't know where this leads, but the path's already amazing... by dragonworthyin pics

This tunnel is in the poison garden within the Alnwick Garden in the UK. Here's a few more similar pics.

How is this possible? Even on the 5 hour exposures I've seen (stars travelling across the night sky) the sky is black. I myself have taken 30s exposures at night (ISO 1600, aperture wide open) and get nothing like this image.

Actually, a relation of his runs a charity over there and he volunteered for them.

Ever since my first time without a condom, I haven't been able to finish with one, and it's really upsetting my lady. Please help! by nosensitivein sex

[–]willebrord_snellius 0 points1 point ago

Wait, the condoms you use are the ultra sensitive ones? I'm fairly sure those are designed for people with premature ejaculation problems, they have a lube that has a slight numbing effect.

Call me naive, but I'm just taking what RT say at face value. At least one other Russian news organisation has reported it. I have to say, I was surprised that I couldn't see anything on BBC News etc.

Guys, the whole word burning thing is fairly inconsequential. He's simply trying to help secularists empathise with religious people, help them understand a religious person's feelings.

The Overjustification Effect --- "No matter how you turn it, the science says once your basic needs are taken care of, money and other rewards don’t make you happier." If you think differently, you're deluding yourself. by DrRichardCraniumin Foodforthought

Am I correct in thinking the location of Chomsky's criticism you are referring to is A Review of B. F. Skinner's Verbal Behaviour?

If that is the case, and if I have understood Chomsky's argument correctly (forgive me if I have not, I'm eager to get to the pub and hence, rather rushed), his main criticism is the unjustifiable importance Skinner gives to external factors and his neglect to consider internal processes.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure YANSS's essay spends the majority of its time explaining to us the importance of "self-perception", i.e., internal processes. Ergo, it contradicts Skinner's behaviourism and aligns itself with Chomsky.

Again, if I am incorrect please accept my apologies and put me right.

I consider it a matter of dignity, whether or not we make a quick buck from selling a few more t-shirts should not come into it. The thinking goes thusly: the monarchy is wrong. If it is wrong then it is equally wrong to keep the monarchy because it makes money, just as it is wrong to commit a crime to make money.

Regardless, France is the most visited country in the world and it is without a monarchy. Even in the UK, the Tower of London attracts far more visitors than Buckingham palace.

Try the concept of a president.
