Viewing it shouldn't necessarily be illegal, though...that's thoughtcrime. I've seen a revolting image or two on 4chan, I don't think I should go to prison for essentially being a bystander.

i agree that pedophiles should be able to get help easier. i also think it's odd that animated CP is illegal. as a victim of CP, i think it trivializes the pain of real CP. an animated underage girl doesn't feel pain. it might be completely tasteless and fucked up, but it's not comparable to real CP in the slightest.

barenda101's tip sounds quite useful! also, something i did when i first moved out of my parents' house was to write down every expense. and during a month try to make it into a challenge, try to spend as little as possible on groceries. after that i knew how little i could survive on if i had to. then i added some money on that budget to make it realistic. i live in germany, so i don't know how much that amount of money will get you in the us, but it does sound like 500 dollars should be enough. my food cost about 127 dollar a month(but it all depends on the prices in your country of course). so it's definitely possible. but then you have to decide what you want to prioritize. i prefer spending less on food and more on going out, or having a gym card or stuff like that. i also spend nothing on clothes, but like to travel. choose what things you want to spend a lot on, and the things you wouldn't mind saving more on. i don't own a car so i don't know how much gas cost though. but maybe you could use your bike or walk when you can? or use public transport more if it's cheap?

as someone who also enjoys some exercising while wanting to live on a tight budget, here's some things that i stock up on, healthy but filling. and supercheap.

lentils
lots and lots of eggs
peanuts/peanut butter
canned tomatoes
onions
dried beans (use it in stews, salads, mix it into spreads)
coconut milk (from asian stores, usually half the normal price)
kgs of oats
a huge piece of the cheapes cheese. (grate it then freeze it in small bags that you can use for cooking later)
frozen veggies, spinach and green peas are usually cheap
canned tuna

always buy high fat products, they're usually cheaper and it gives you more energy for less money.

edit: oh, you don't mean food products? then buy a teflon frying pan, 2 pots, a good knife and a cutting board. maybe a garlic press if you're into garlic. i like to eat mixed soups and spreads, so i bought a mixer as well. asian/turkish/arabic stores usually have very cheap kitchen stuff.
