Diablo 3 (Inferno) World First Group Completion. Congratulations Method by IVIysticalin diablo3

I was watching the stream earlier today as they were trying to take down Diablo. They died on him tons of times before they figured things out.

What particular comic artist usually did political cartoons?

I'm guessing you don't mean Gary Larson, since his The Far Side strip wasn't political at all. If anything that Cow Tools comic was pretty typical material for him.

Or did he used to do more political cartoons earlier in his career, and I just didn't know that?

A picture I show to people who don't understand evolution by live_freein atheism

[–]translucent 0 points1 point ago

I fully believe in evolution and get the message behind the graph, but can someone explain to me why if species gradually evolve into new ones, why there aren't tons of 'in between' species all over the planet? They're pretty demarcated.

Even as I was typing out this question some of the answers came to me, but I'd rather leave it up to hear what other people have to say

Is that always the case? Wouldn't some street walkers or brothel workers be forced by their pimps to see as many customers as were available?

What is something authors do that annoys you excessively when you're reading a book? by hownicetomeetyouin AskReddit

Excessive world building details in fantasy and sci-fi novels, to a degree where it completely bogs down the plot. Also, when said details are clumsily forced into characters' dialogue ("I'm really mad at Joe. Joe is a member of the Smithing Guide of Coexlia. The Guild has existed since 831..."). Just write a compendium outlining your fictional universe instead if you want to describe it so badly.

I found the fourth and fifth Song of Ice and Fire books pretty bad for this. For some of the chapters it just seemed like George R.R. Martin really wanted to describe a certain city more than anything. The extended descriptions of meals, lineages, and banners in that series falls into the same category.

Help me Reddit, I'm ignored and talked over in almost every social situation! by awkwardthrowawayguyin AskReddit

[–]translucent 1 point2 points ago

Some thoughts:

The headline says you get cut off in every social situation, but you say yourself it's mainly just in bigger discussions with certain friends. Just saying not to be too hard on yourself. You're not always ignored, just in this one context.

When a group conversation gets big enough, especially between a bunch of young guys, it gets more cut throat. Everyone gets overexcited and eager and wants to talk and you've got to compete with people and 'take' your time in the spotlight. Everyone else is going to act this way, so you've got to as well. You may need to learn to raise your voice, start talking over people back at you if they interrupt, and whatnot.

I'm not saying you're boring, I don't know you, but a related possibility, is that when it is your turn to talk you tend to ramble or talk in a non-dynamic way. This is fine mostly, but in hectic bigger discussions you've got to have a bit more flair and be more concise. You've got to capture the spotlight a bit to hold off the hoards who want to cut you off to get their turn in. Your energy level has to match everyone else's.

Maybe the fact that you're all stoned when this happens is contributing. Your friends may not realize they're ignoring you because they're high and their minds are working differently. I know I when I get high I get caught up in my head, or on some point I want to make, and am not really being as attentive to social cues.

What did you find hard to apply about it?

I'll talk about what I found helpful from that site, but when I do bear in mind it's been a while since I was reading the site a lot, and it looks like it's changed a bit, and I also stumbled on it at a time when my own shyness was starting to get better. So the writing mainly reinforced some things I was already starting to figure out.

Some things I remember being good are the advice on making friends, esp. the emphasis on taking initiative, the article on group conversations, and the general emphasis on lightening up and not being too down on people. Also, I remember it just giving me hope because it was really similar to my life growing up and I thought if this guy could do it then I could too.

Another excellent site on social skills is:

If you had a beautiful house, an endless supply of gorgeous (wo)men and and endless supply of any food you wanted, would you do anything except fuck, eat and sleep for the rest of your life? by thezizin AskReddit

[–]translucent 1 point2 points ago*

Yeah, I'm pretty confident you'd get used to it surprisingly quickly. Not that you'd grow to hate the situation or anything, but you could hardly do nothing by eat and have sex for the rest of your life.

Think about it, how many hours in a day do you spend eating? How much can you eat before you get full?

Same with sex. It's fun, but you're not going to be doing it 15 hours a day for years on end. Your body's just not capable of doing that. Also, when you're getting sex on a regular basis it ceases to seem like such a big deal.

Not counting the first crazy few weeks, I'd imagine besides the food and sex you'd have a good 14 hours a day you'd need to kill. You'd very quickly want to read a book or go for a hike or something.

And then the whole Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs thing would kick in. You've got your basic drives satisfied, but you're still human, and your mind would soon turn towards deeper pursuits.

What were some of your childhood beliefs or misunderstandings about the world that made perfect sense at the time? by Ambivalent_Fanaticin AskReddit

I thought "drugs" looked like candy and were taken by eating them.

So I had it worked out in my mind that if a drug dealer ever approached me in an alley and offered me drugs*, I could just sneakily switch them with some candy I'd have in my pocket. Then I could eat the candy and pretend I liked drugs to get the drug dealer to leave me alone.

Additionally, I could then take the real drugs and go, "Wow, drugs are way better than candy! Candy sucks!" and then throw them on the ground and step on them. The drug dealer would think I was rejecting candy and never going back, but little would he know I was actually crushing the drugs he gave me.

*From reading anti-drug comic books they passed out in the fourth grade, this is what I thought drug dealers did, approach school kids in alleys.

In this thread: People patting themselves on the back for being superior to and too good for all the groups they feel they don't fit in with.

They're supposedly better than the normal kids because they're not boring, brain dead, conformist sheep like they are and they're better than the weirdos because they're not truly maladjusted, just misunderstood individualists.

If you can find something wrong with every group you could possibly hang out with that says more about you than them. Your social life will likely improve once you give people a chance and stop looking for reasons why everyone is beneath you.

The original Transformers cartoon. Watched the first few episodes a year or so ago and was struck by what a blatant toy commercial it was. Animation's not as good as I remembered either. Of course this applies to most 80's cartoons.

Details? Why didn't, say, hooking up with a college girl or the party chick live up to your expectations?

I used to feel this way, and I know a lot of my guy friends do too. Then I was with a girl who really knew what she was doing in the oral department and my attitude did a 180.

Good view of her vagina, legs, and butt cheeks. Also, if you look down your chest you can see her breasts and watch a bit of the head she's giving you.

Nose doesn't really get that close to her actual poophole. Also, some guys find the sight of a girl's asshole to be sexy.

Another I'll add is giving a girl a facial or cumming in her mouth. Every time I've done it, it always takes me longer to finish than I think it will. You watch porn and you think you're just doing one thing, then you maneuver to her face and blow your load. In reality I think I'm about to pop, then proceed to awkwardly try and finish myself off for five minutes, while the girl just lays or kneels there. I tend to believe the girl isn't that into it either, and is just doing it to please me. Then you actually cum and it's all kind of over quickly and the visual isn't as good as you'd imagine it would be, for one because you didn't aim right and more hit her chin than anything. And then the girl rushes off instantly to get a kleenex.

I like 69'ing (girl on top). Definitely distracting to give and receive at once, but it's hot in principle, and you get a good view.

Not that it doesn't work, just that I found it to be more awkward and distracting than having sex in other places. You basically have to have sex standing up, which was awkward with the girl in question since our heights didn't line up well. The heat of the water dried her and the condom out a bit, so it was hard to get it in. You can't have sex under the water, since it's distracting, but if you're away from the water then you're just having so so standing sex in a bathtub. Did it for maybe a minute before we decided to towel off and go back to the bedroom.
