Dude, congrats on quitting smoking!! But it's not going to be a panacea for everything in your life. You need to come up with a plan to not just NOT smoke but also treat yourself right in other respects. Binge drinking and eating is just going to make you depressed ... which is going to make you want to do more of the same. Learn how to eat well, learn to appreciate how awesome it is to exercise. You deserve it!!

Religion is fascinating. Just look at all those identically dressed people with their near-identical viewpoints. It's the ultimate self-replicating meme. But also a pity in that all those people will take their kids at birth and say "you're going to dress like this, think like this, like these people but not these, eat this food, do this and this and this with your time. Yup, that's your life." A terrible waste in my opinion.

And no, hivemind, I'm not being anti-semitic. I feel this way about all religions that do the above.

Now I am fairly certain however, that only the pig tapeworm can do this in humans. Someone is welcome to correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the cow and fish tapeworms can't do this, or have not been known to do this in people.

Interesting.. pig whipworms are used in the treatment of Crohn's as they can't reproduce in humans.

That was 4 years ago and I still get paranoid about having another attack from smoking.

Well that's classic self-reinforcing anxiety. You'll be on the lookout for symptoms and will react negatively to them. I'm not at all suggesting you smoke again or more or whatever but should you continue to do so you should do some reading on anxiety and handling panic attacks -- if that is indeed what you had.

When it's, "I've fucked up my life/future/whatever, and I will die miserable and alone" its harder to reason out of, ESPECIALLY when high.

Oh no doubt. I would never dismiss the power of a panic attack but yeah there's something awful about that sickly introspection that one can have while high. I look at my life and I just feel like I'm living alone in some diaspora. Is it the drug or is it a reality check? Conversely on one of the two times I did shrooms I felt amazing love and interconnection with my friends and the world. I did also look at my alcohol consumption and wondered why the hell I was keeping this wet towel tied to my foot.. but it didn't make me sickly-depressed.

You speak the truth. All pot smokers need to be aware that it's a possibility. And with that awareness if they start to feel like shit is spinning out of control they can hopefully take a step back and realize that they are not losing their minds or going to have a heart attack.
