I find that I can strike a pretty comfortable balance point if I stick my body up at just the right angle against the wind resistance. My 07' CBR600rr really wasn't all that uncomfortable at anything over 70mph.

Although I guess she's only RIP to me. It went to auction after I gave it up to the insurance company and for all I know it was brought back to life and is rolling around keeping somebody else happy.

The first time she got totaled was from some jackass that backed into her in a parking lot while she was still brand new. The second time she got totaled was by a combination of gravel, a pothole, and inexperience (me) ending in a low speed crash. The third happened on a twisty forest highway, highway 1, in northern MN. I came around a corner carrying quite a bit of speed and came upon a bunch of debris from a logging truck. I did my best to pick a clear line but still ending up hitting a rather large chunk of tree bark. I didn't go down but the bark hit the naked underbelly of the bike and punctured the exhaust which in turn put a pin hole in the engine block. After the third total I decided to let her go. She is pictured above in her second life.

Find a road away from intersections and driveways before you start cracking it open. I realize this is relatively tame compared to some videos I see but it still seems like too busy of an area for riding like this. Just my two cents.
