Body Odor at Korean School by LadyNerdin TEFL

[–]thesando 1 point2 points ago

I was a bit of a pudge myself when I got to Taiwan. I suggest trying to by elasticated ones that are a little tight (but not uncomfortably tight) on you as it will make your entire figure seem less lumpy. You'll look smaller too.

If you are really too big to find things in Korea, even in places like Uniqlo, you'll have to order from your favorite supplier or look for a big and tall store. I'm not in Korea, so I can't point you anywhere useful sorry.

I found that having a tanktop/singlet/wifebeater on under my shirt/t-shirt helps a lot. The Sweat sticks to them and not the shirt, which menas if I do start to stink, I can whip it off, do a "sink shower" and replace it with another one. It does mean that I have around 14 singlets taking up space in my drawers, but at the same time I don't reek.

Obv's you're a girl, so you might not be able to wear one "fashionably".

Has technology always felt like its been growing at break neck speeds? by AtLoggerheadsin history

[–]thesando 1 point2 points ago

Interesting! I'm not to sure that there was any technological revolution in terms of farming from that period. I know there was a struggle to improve their irrigation systems, and there would have been an inevitable increase in the effectiveness of the domesticated plants and animals of the time. (under the winnowing principle.)

Check out the luddite movement from the 19th century, essentially they hated the technological change and how it was warping everything around them.

Technology hasn't moved at a great pace all the time. For example, the Mesopotamian cultures had a thousand year period or so where the killer app in warfare was the chariot. Their strategies didn't change much and their cultures evolved at a glacial pace.

TIL that over 70 fake newscasts were created for the film "Independence Day" by dinkleberg31in todayilearned

I remember seeing one as a child and actually believing it for 15 minutes... then the fact nobody else was mentioning it on the other stations made me suspicious.

Aa yeah, I was more media savvy then than every adult who listened to the War of the Worlds broadcast

No,no, beauty is about being closer to perfection. Check out the golden ratio.

What you're seeing here are thousands of people who have been aggregated together. Their weird individual imperfections have been turned into hazy abstracts. Ugliness is the point of difference here, not beauty.

Yes they do. Mine was so big that it was the size of two golfballs, and it necrotized the tissue surrounding it. But it's okay, because now I just have chronic pain where it used to be and a horrific scar!

My try at Pokemon Yellow Nuzlocke, any advice\tips by italianeyein nuzlocke

[–]thesando 0 points1 point ago

crits are based on pokemon vs pokemon speed differences, so, pokes that you'd usually rely on in GBC/GBA/DS era might suck a bit more, while others are amazing.

Decide whether you will use any of the three starters and how they will count in regards to the 1 pokemon an area rule.
