I've been doing it for four years and I love it. It's also known as Vedic Meditation and, in India, Nishkam Karma Yoga which implies the little effort is used during the meditation. I totally agree that TM costs too much. I wish it didn't cost anything at all. The money thing bugs me. However, and paradoxically, it's the most valuable thing I've ever spent money on. I love it. I practice twice a day. I feel less anxious, more connected, happier and healthier. I learned Vedic Meditation through a teacher and I'm glad I had a teacher because what I do would be difficult to learn through a book. That said, I believe there are many meditation paths. Do I think mine is the best? Of course! Do I think it's the only path? Absolutely not. Investigate all practices and see which one you feel good about and try that.
