I upvoted you because I can see people are downvoting you for your opinion, but I will disagree with you. I know that if I were not able to legally protect my creations, others with better market skills, placement, and cash reserves would be free to profit from my work making my efforts meaningless. I don't believe even a 10th of the current artists, authors, or creators of any kind would do it knowing that they would be unable to make a living at it.

Because let's face it, if you have to work at McDonalds just to live, it's hard to be creative on your spare time, especially when there's NO incentive to be.

I once hunted someone down on a site like this based only on their username. All I did was post a comment on another profile somewhere that they should be more careful with their personal information if they were going to say rude and ignorant things online.

You'd be surprised how easy it is sometimes. For instance a very cursory search tells me what city you live in and how many dogs you have.
