How to use the Plex channel with Roku | PCWorld by excoriatorin Roku

[–]snark_nerd 0 points1 point ago

This couldn't have come at a better time - I've got the day off and mean to try doing this. I tried once before but found the documentation for Plex to be practically nonexistent (or at least too obscure for me to take the time to learn it). Hopefully this will help. Good share!

Any legal gurus able to answer this question about growing cannabis and roommates? by 651264in nyc

Nice try, his present weed dealer ...

But seriously, OP, sounds like you are seriously underestimating the risks here. I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't, but you should go into it with less naivete in my opinion.

Alternatively, can you (not you, gdroxor, but you, OP) please stop abbreviating the already-very short word "you"?

Does anyone have any experience with this cheap craigslist moving companies? by funksterin nyc

[–]snark_nerd 0 points1 point ago

I used one - Kevin's Van Service, IIRC. In the end, he moved all my stuff, and while it was a huge pain in the ass (he was a bit of a diva about how much stuff I had, even though I was only moving out of a studio, and he bitched unprofessionally the whole time), he did ultimately move most of my stuff pretty quickly and at a cheaper rate than a "real" moving company would have.

I would stick to places that also have Yelp reviews in addition to low Craigslist quotes. While the horror stories from the other comments do happen, I'm sure, they're not all scumbags, by any means.

What cab did I just experience? by theroboticdanin nyc

[–]snark_nerd 1 point2 points ago

Yeah - in Brooklyn and elsewhere, they're an important part of the transportation network for those without cars, and they're generally pretty trusted and honest (if you know the system and don't let them quote a high fare). I'm not sure how the new rules and the new outer-borough (apple green) taxis will change this.

Yo! NYC. What's something about your city that makes it great? by BrutallyHonestDudein nyc

It is the greatest city in the world and needs no explanation or advocacy ... come or don't come, we don't give a shit.

Looking for somewhere to drink outside this Saturday (as non-douchey as possible) because previous choice is closed for the day. Any suggestions? by uberslothin nyc

[–]snark_nerd 1 point2 points ago

Unfortunately, near-every place that's outside and that serves beer can get douchey at times - for example, the Boat Basin (great sometimes, really douchey at others). What're you gonna do - go with friends, camp out, ignore the others.

Ninja edit: to be clear, I'm not doubting or disagreeing with you re: The Frying Pan.
