I think of it like this... I own, for argument's sake, a boarding school. My school has rules. One of them is when you have private time you may say anything as long as it isn't racist, offensive and such and about 76% of boarders usually abide by that. Of the remainder, usually I have to slap wrists when boarders partake in silly fights or bullying, smoking, things like that. Honestly it doesn't really bother me because I secretly provide the cigarettes which are traded and profit from it, but I digress.

Of the 24% (let's make that = 58 people) of boarders whom I have files on due to their tendencies to misbehave, there are 15 that I watch... no, spy on regularly. It's ridiculously simple to do, at least if compared to approaches other boarding schools apply. And cheaper too! Bonus the boarders have a false sense of freedom. I can hear any conversation anywhere on my property. I can zoom in to a pencil dot on a page and see it HD.

I'll share the "secret". Overt measures to instill desired behaviour just creates more rebellion. Rebels must be killed to avoid loss of power. Kills are expensive, if I order them directly.

Instead I let this society run itself. Boarders automatically form hierarchy, the weak get killed off and I don't get blamed! The corruptibles I call in discreetly and use as mercenaries in exchange for what they think is power. But its not true power, just status in my society. Dissidents with potential to cause a revolution are sent off to "hospital"... what that really means is they end up trying to escape, god knows why, and "accidently" fall off the nearby bridge to their death. If anyone discovers the truth: that the driver of the truck to take boarders to hospital is actually a hitman, ill just act shocked. Nothing will hppen to me anyway. Murder by proxy.

But what is genius, if I say so myself, is there are 2 official school newsletters which most read. But there is a third, readily accessible but intentionally crafted as perceptively very hard to acquire. I vehemently deny it exists. But it does. It fuckin does! I know because I run it.
