It's back up. There was an issue earlier today where if you use Reddit Enhancement Suite it mixed up a bunch of imgur posts. So for your image I saw a random screenshot of GTA. At first I thought you were trolling, and you found some imgur exploit, because another submission of yours showed someone pushing someone down stairs. I was pretty confused.

But yeah, it was a server-wide problem.

I don't know about that, man. People have and do change their minds all the time. There are plenty of people who have changed their mind on gay marriage...after Obama's announcement the percent of people in Maryland that approved of gay marriage jumped 12%.

I think what MrCheeze is saying that...it's okay to not want to tolerate repugnant beliefs. Like I can't respect a racist's beliefs. I can respect the racist, perhaps, but I can't respect his beliefs. You know? I kinda feel like the attitude of "All beliefs are equally valid and you have to respect them equally" is detrimental to society. That's the sort of attitude that makes it so people like Jenny McCarthy (a playboy model) gets to debate actual scientists and doctors on CNN like they're equals.

I don't think that's what you're saying, though. I think you're saying that you have to be respectful towards each other even if you don't respect the beliefs. Just don't be a dick while arguing. I can definitely agree to that.

Also, fellow mindcrackers, being respectful during an argument means not downvoting people for their opinions. That's not what the downvote arrow is for, really.

There has to be a happy medium. You can't be like "let's add 15 more sets of tools!" and when someone opposes that you can't say "Well, fine, I guess you think we should only have one set!".

Different food sources so you don't starve. If there's only chickens around, that's what you have to eat. Now imagine if all the food came only from pigs. This would make the game a lot more difficult.

Additionally, just because the developers added stuff that don't have a purpose doesn't mean they should continue doing so.

Why do people confuse someone criticizing their opinion as them being on a high horse? He's giving his opinion. His opinion is that your opinion is wrong. Giant ants would be awesome, but the problem with that is that a proper would take up a lot of room, more so than abandoned mineshafts. This is actually a problem with most suggested structures. They're much to large to actually be feasible on a randomly generated map. Because they're so large, they would also have to be rare, and therefore hard to find, so you'd need a way to find them. And consider the dynamics of the mobs. An ant colony should have hundreds of ants all over the place...this would introduce a lot of lag and also be incredibly difficult to fight. And what is the unique thing about ants? Each mob has some kind of gimmick about it (zombies' gimmick is that they have no gimmick). I can't view ants as being anything different than spiders.

I love the idea of a new boss mob, but I'm not sure creating a whole new mob would be the way to do it. Maybe instead of a queen ant, we can have a queen spider instead, that lives in mine shafts. It just makes more sense to me.

Also, all mobs should have some kind of boss, now that I think of it. Endermen have the enderdragon, zombies can have giants, skeletons can have some...thing, creepers can have some kind of explosion-based boss, etc.

Render distance, yes, and it is F3 and F. Problem with this is that it's a very difficult key combination. I miss the days of 1.7, where all I had to do was press F! It made the game much more playable than it is now. I pressed that key a lot. Now I have to awkwardly position my fingers in the middle of battle so I'm actually able to fight, and that ugly lag graph shows up, blocks my view and slows down my game. It would mean a lot if I were able to actually map that to a better key, and I think a lot of other redditors with low-end computers would agree.
