I will certainly admit to not being entirely too familiar with the Greek situation, but I cannot agree with the sentiment that "you get the government you deserve".

As an American, it would seem more adept to say, "You get the government that's forced upon you". And, yes, of course - I understand that ours is by no means a dictatorship, but our republic gets further and further from its principle roots of democracy as power and wealth are continually consolidated toward the upper-echelons of the society.

I wonder how much choice the Greeks-at-large really have.
