Reddit, what is the most powerful image you have ever seen? by tokerjoker11in AskReddit

[–]shanshan412 2 points3 points ago

It was probably the hardest to try and numb himself. But quick action saved lives from disease and bacteria festering on the bodies. I went to Haiti after the hurricane, almost six months later, and it was pretty much as if the hurricane had just happened: people in tents, no water, little food. Basically like it was before but with more people now. (I was in Haiti six months before the hurricane too)

Lawyers, what cases are you sorry you won? by navysilkin AskReddit

[–]shanshan412 1 point2 points ago

I don't understand the hate towards cops. Every cop I've ever interacted with was polite and patient and understanding. I rear-ended someone once and the cop was nice enough to wait with me until my mom got there because I was hysterical and thoroughly jolted (I was only 16). He chatted amicably to calm me down and was very nice. Every other police man I've been in contact with was just as kind.

I still think they should play this in the beginning of every movie at the theater... by zeryin videos

We in Georgia say y'all. I thought everyone said it until I visited New York City. There was no Coke or Y'alls to be found...

When I was sixteen I was caught making out with my boyfriend in an alley behind Burger King in his car. They still don't trust me with guys and i'm almost 20.

You're right, and like I said, it's stupid to fear. But more unlikely things have happened.

I hate my height. I'm 5'2 and I'm not fat but I have a curvy body, which makes me look fat when I'm not

Which perfectly good book was most brutally murdered by its movie adaptation? by sage_jochin AskReddit

[–]shanshan412 3 points4 points ago

I was going to say that. Eragon had somewhat amateur writing style, but mostly fine, and the story was very good. Movie slaughtered it.

Could Jenny McCarthy be tried for her role in the pertussis epidemic? by ArmchairPostAnalyzerin AskReddit

[–]shanshan412 14 points15 points ago

I was vaccinated against pertussis, but I still got it. Another strain developed from people not vaccinated and as my vaccination weakened, I caught it when I was 17. People who don't follow procedures regarding vaccination from this disease should not be tolerated. Pertussis is awful. I had it for six months, which could have been prevented if other people had followed regulations

What were the days after 9/11 like? by argonautsin AskReddit

[–]shanshan412 6 points7 points ago

I was the same way, still am. I live in a small suburb near Atlanta and if terrifies me that they could target the CDC, which contains diseases that don't exist anywhere else in te world so no one would e immunized again them. I know that this is so unlikely it's ridiculous to even fear, but no one expected planes in the WTC either.

What were the days after 9/11 like? by argonautsin AskReddit

[–]shanshan412 6 points7 points ago

I was eight, so I was confused and unaware. All of the adults were so sad. I was afraid. We've been at war with the terrorists for so much of my life I don't remember time before it. I still tense when i hear planes flying low. I know they won't attack my town, but the memory of that day terrifies me.

I once heard of a man who had a birthmark in the shape of a map of the London underground above his left knee. Very useful.

Up to 88% of Georgia college's faculty may quit over requirement to sign pledge against homosexuality, public drinking by twolf1in politics

Oh how lucky I am being aware that one school does not represent a whole country!

[–]shanshan412 0 points1 point ago

You should really change the title to "a Georgia college's faculty"... The article clearly states that this is specific to Shorter College. I go to UGA and almost everyone is very tolerant and accepting, excluding extreme religious zealots that are found at every school.

This should be what more people do. Not for moral reasons, but because it's better for the relationship and for the separate individuals

Today, I found out a woman I know has faked a pregnancy, uses doll as baby, and last night jumped off a boat claiming her new born baby fell in. She was arrested today for wasting police time. What is the lowest you have seen people stoop to for attention? by KoldStaticin AskReddit

[–]shanshan412 6 points7 points ago

I used to be a cutter, and I'll have the scars on my legs and arms for the rest of my life. It's people like this that give the stereotype. Real cutters like I was dress normally, act normally, and are outwardly fine. But alone in your room at night you cut and bleed and cut and enjoy thinking about the secret you have with yourself about the scars and the blood and the gashes. But now I'm fine and I wish people wouldn't downplay stiff like that. It's a serious problem.

When I was 4, I heard my parents having sex the night before and proceeded to yell "Fuck me, fuck me!" to everyone at my cousin's birthday party. What funny/embarrassing stories from your childhood do you have reddit? by Peenersin AskReddit

[–]shanshan412 1 point2 points ago

When I was 3-4 and my sister was 6-7, we were flower girls together in our cousin's wedding. While we were all standing around the altar during the ceremony in front of everyone, I start edging my way between the my cousin (the bride) and the pastor, staring at her pretty dress. Soon I am so mesmerized that I'm between the bride and the groom, staring. My sister grabbed me and tried to pull me back, but I wrenched away and screamed at the top of my lungs, "YOU'RE NOT MY MOMMY." So they left me alone and went on with the ceremony while I stared at her pretty dress to my heart's content. That story is retold at every family gathering and my cousin always laughs the hardest.
