I climbed a tree to show you guys my new project. by GarrManin Minecraft

[–]samineru 0 points1 point ago

I'm sorry, but I don't like it very much at all. I think it could use more variety, and the waterfalls are a little sloppy for my tastes. Maybe if you made a moat at the bottom and had the waterfalls pour out into it? Something like this perhaps.

[Suggestion] Bring the "mine" back in Minecraft! by lovelyfairybearin Minecraft

[–]samineru 0 points1 point ago

I remember seeing a suggestion a while ago that underground generation could be affected by biomes as well. Cave structure and ore frequency/presence could both be modified, allowing for variety without overcrowding. It also adds a more exploratory element to mining in the need to seek out specific biomes for single-purpose mines.

It would be weird to have it as a ring with a whole in the middle, can you think of something that would go well in the middle? Gunpowder perhaps?

One of the primary activities is looking through the spam traps. They have many false positives so you need to pick out content that people are actually submitting.

I used it in a class here at RPI, but I bet there are some specific features it lacks in comparison to Blackboard Learn.

Proposed: Animals are there for our use and benefit and we should treat them as we please. by Ifyouletmefinnishin gue

If we simply lobotomized the pain centers of animals at birth would it then be acceptable to do whatever we want to them? The creepy creature was really my smallest point.

I wish we could use free software like moodle instead. I bet if our CS students knew they could patch the software they were using everyday we'd get a great fine tuned project out of it.

I'm a huge fan of the wooded hill between Academy Hall and the parking garage. Absolutely gorgeous during the summer.

Visible here on google maps. No one ever walks by it slowly so most don't notice it.

Why is it that the mere capability to feel pain is sufficient to earn rights? How do you draw the line between stimulus response and pain? Would a creature bioengineered to feel great pain whenever I lacked anything I desired ethically force people to give me money?

Some say rights extend to any creature capable of consciousness, including some animals. By ignoring their rights you are committing a moral wrong.

This conversation is meaningless assertions whizzing by each other until you provide a foundation for your conception of rights.

That's rather specific.

Again, you are assuming that the color is "grotesque", that's their personal aesthetic taste and it is no better or worse than ours.

It makes them look that way to you, but probably not the people they care about.
