Why China Can’t Cut Off North Korea? - The North’s relatively well-endowed mineral deposits are worth 140 times the country’s GDP. by salvagein worldpolitics

Not sure why China would see the need to attach US Army bases in South Korea when the chances of a US attack on China are close to none.

Similarly, not sure why Israel needs the US to attack the likes of Iraq when it can do so itself, and has in the past.

Irrelevant. Changes in political power, particularly in countries like Pakistan, does not effect the power wielded by the military. Much like what we have seen in Egypt, where the military has always been in charge. With such countries military diplomacy and commitments supersede.

Pakistan is trusted to understand the concept of mutual destruction.

If you don't agree with this, it will be noted.

There is no stable relationship between Israel and Pakistan, the former is one of India's major arms suppliers, so not sure what you're talking about as this holds opposite ramifications.

Regardless of the political leadership changes in Pakistan, the current military leadership is considered stable, communicative, and thus trusted to understand the concept of mutual destruction, a term I'm repeating again.

Obviously you're ignoring this point in favour of your view that Pakistan has won the "respect" of Israel somehow.

Pakistan doesn't have a Israel's respect, and doesn't even generate any interest economically like Indonesia, which also doesn't recognise Israel.

Rather, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have stable enough leadership that they can be trusted to understand the concept of mutual destruction, a term I'm repeating over and over.

The Iranian leadership will never gain that "respect", and even after they "finally get nukes", or rather the ability to assemble them, (which will never be allowed to happen), they will be soon destroyed, or the regime changed.

Since its only you and me here, no need to downvote the "propaganda machine victim". Upset as much?

I didn't dodge your issue and reiterated my point that Israel and the world powers trust the likes of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as being responsible enough to understand the concept of mutual destruction.

So though Israel maintains close diplomatic (and military) relations with the US, you hypothesise a battle arena scenario in which the two would face off in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. This is a ludicrous assertion that betrays profound ignorance in diplomatic relations, regional developments and warfare. Israel is under the protecting power of the US diplomatic network in those countries, so any attack would be planned and coordinated closely between the two, though as I said Israel and the US do not want to attack regimes they trust as responsible enough to maintain nuclear weapons programs without plunging the world into another war.

Its widely acknowledged that Saudi Arabia has access to nuclear weapons through its joint program with Pakistan, and we don't hear everyday from Israeli leaders about them "leaving all options on the table" in this regard.

Heck, we don't even hear Israel protesting Pakistan's nukes even though Pakistan's air force pilots fought in the Six Day War on Jordan's side against Israel, and remains hostile in words and actions.

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, both very different in their way of governance, for the better or worse; are trusted by Israel and the world powers to be responsible enough to understand the concept of mutual destruction.

Iran on the other hand, with its clerical leadership whose religion prophecies doom and destruction, cannot be awarded such trust.

I agree with what you're saying, but perhaps one should be a little more sensitive to the inevitable plight of revolutionaries who undertake regime change upon themselves, such as the brave rebels in Syria.

I wouldn't put it that the Japanese chose fascism, rather we can say in retrospect that a restoration of democratic values and control of the army by the government, even at the cost of tens of thousands of rebel lives would have made Japan better off as a nation.

Remember the saying "When Good Men Do Nothing...".

Not sure why you're being downvoted. It seems some Libertarians may be of the view that limited Government can be limited in its power to conduct foreign relations and trade in accords to national interests. Few of these people would limit government from signing free trade agreements and treaties with foreign governments, facilitating growth in private sectors of both nations.

Newsflash: some governments do have some legitimate powers entrusted to them by their peoples.

The Tal Law (Haredi service exemption) has been ruled unconstitutional - time for some serious conversation/ self-examination re: the secular-religious tensions in israel. by Sunserpentin Israel

Conversation yes, and lots of it, but will be no introspection on the Haredim's part, they are dead set on exempting themselves.

As their most powerful rabbis have said many a time, "build prisons, and we will sit in them with our gemaras".

There needs to be a much more gradual and incrementally implemented solution.
