I understand now why Blizzard said it would take months to beat Inferno. by OneoftheChosenin Diablo

[–]rpete710 18 points19 points ago

If a Barb is getting 2-shot in inferno with no way to stop it and the Wizard has a way of completely avoiding getting 2-shot, then yes Blizzard must have not seen it coming. Either that or Blizzard is more stupid than I thought.

Pretty sure that's not what OP is saying. I don't think I see cheat anywhere in OP's post but I do see OP describing the differences between Blizzard's expectation of players' progression pre-launch and their actual progression using a clever combination of skills to achieve unintended, yet effective, builds and capabilities. Use them all you want, I don't think OP would be mad at anyone for doing so. But don't expect it to be around for very long.

I wouldn't call it "caving." I would call it "fixing what they didn't intend for builds to be able to do." Sure, all of the skills work as intended; if you couldn't figure that out by yourself then Stupid_Fucking_Cunt laid that out pretty clearly. But that isn't addressing at all what OP was talking about. OP was referring to how Blizzard expected and intended the game as a whole would play out, not individual skills. I agree, the skills seem to be working great. But the real matter is how Blizzard seemed to have not foreseen this combination of skills to do something that they didn't want players to be able to do. I really don't think Blizzard intended melee to suck so much vs. ranged/kite. I agree, players shouldn't be to blame but Blizzard should address what OP was talking about.

It just seems to me like she's taking this whole "make me a sandwich" thing a little seriously. There's obvious sexism in that statement but my best guess is she's using it as a vehicle to say "If my significant other asks me to make him/her sandwich, I'll make him/her a sandwich. If I didn't want to, why would I be with that person?" I'm going against a lot of the opinions in here, but it sounded like she also meant and should have included the rest of what she was thinking which is "I expect that if I asked my significant other for a sandwich, that person would be happy to make me one too."

I don't think many women (except a certain subset of religious people and a few other girls few and far between) think they should be subservient to men. I just think she did a really bad job of explaining how she would do things for her significant other as favors. I could be very wrong though.

I hope MR aren't the only people that are talking about that. But based off of the tone of your comment, sadly it sounds like the truth.

I'm not arguing this point at all because that's not what we were talking about in earlier posts. Just because women have worse issues doesn't nullify all men's issues.

Sincerely, who cares what you are. We all should be for equal rights no matter what color, race, gender, religion, etc we post on the internet.

[–]rpete710 -3 points-2 points ago

But that's another thing, we're not trying to give any less weight to the women's rights movement but look at how disrespected the men's rights movement is and especially on Reddit. I realize that the image has been tarnished by a lot of people who claim to be for MR but that doesn't mean the MR movement doesn't have any valid points.

I would argue that there's even less respect given to the Men's Rights movement and there's even disdain towards it. I don't think anyone in their right mind is trying to say that men's issues are more important than women's but I think men are just getting tired of this guise of "equal rights."

[–]rpete710 -6 points-5 points ago

The only difference is we all know that there are problems with the way many men treat and think of women and there's a respected movement behind it. How many people on Reddit will say "we don't need to change anything about the way society treats and thinks of women."? Not many. At least, not as many as those that would give credit to men's issues. And that's the issue that theorctank tried to bring up. He's not trying to silence anyone's opinion; he only wants to bring to light equal-rights issues like the woman in the picture is trying to bring up.

Maybe theorctank is just upset that there's a movement of people behind the mask of 'fighting for equal rights' when all that they are doing is talking about women's rights. But I guess we can't assume everybody is for equal rights...

[–]rpete710 -9 points-8 points ago

TheOrcTank didn't say women couldn't complain at all. The only issue a lot of men have is that women always claim to fight for equal rights but they for the most part tend to not give respect to men's issues. Or whether or not they do, they act like you and say "upvotes? Really?!" when we try and complain too.

Obviously "getting reparations" changes from country to country, but let's go with your assumption (which is probably 100% correct) that there are no possible reparations for out-of-contract inconveniences/human rights violations. In fact I would say that it's pretty common knowledge that there aren't any reparations for a job like this (and it seems like you would agree seeing how adamant you are).

Do the people know that coming into the job?

You leave at the end of the 10 months and make sure that you get all the reparations possible and tell everyone you know about it so they know what they're getting into. If they want to work for them after you leave then it's on them.

But if we're willing to make the statement "men TEND to be more promiscuous and less selective in terms of their sexual partners than women?" isn't that making a supposition about all men? that we all tend to be a certain way?

specifics depend on the person which shouldn't end up mattering because, well, of course all of us are different.

Sociology by Disagreedin funny

[–]rpete710 1 point2 points ago

Okay, that makes sense. But why do we need to differentiate between saying "all men are y" and "men tend to be y" when we know that tendency is significant? Is it for the sole purpose of protecting the statistically insignificant few who aren't like all men?
