Blizzard intentionally makes passwords non-case sensitive by oterenin netsec

No...

Passwords can be changed to lowercase before they're hashed.

Good attitude to have, no wonder this has gotten so much negative feedback so far.

Or you could just change 1 setting when you compile your code and sign it with the signing certificate you already have because you have an app on the MAS.

This isn't attention to detail, it's them putting the day the company was founded on a ticket.

I think the problem is LogMeIn and/or Hamachi.

what's your complaint again

Are you not listening? The fact that they require your admin password and 7 days to take the glass off the front of your iMac and wipe a cloth on the back side of the glass. "a bunch of shit" didn't need to be disassembled, they get a suction cup and pull the front off, that's IT. No screw driver required, a quick 10 minute procedure stretched out over 7 days.

Now you're telling me to just "pop the drive out" which requires massive disassembly.

Apple iPad Mini With 7-Inch Screen Debuts in October: Report by littlerickybobby228in apple

[–]rnawky 1 point2 points ago

It's the same bullshit article that has no merit. This site looks like some blog someone threw up in 10 seconds just to copy/paste this article from another sit.

Why don't we all just start making up articles "APPLE WORKING ON NEW REVOLUTIONARY SHOWER HEAD AND TOILET PAPER!"

Windows -> Apple converts, why did you change? by xadzin apple

[–]rnawky -9 points-8 points ago

Wrong, thanks for making assumptions though. I brought it in the store shortly after purchasing it. I had to order the iMac online because the store does not carry the 256GB SSD + 2TB HDD + upgraded CPU + upgraded GPU model. I brought it in after receiving it in the mail and they cleaned it out for free, however they wanted the administrative password.

It's nothing like the mechanic analogy. It would be like a mechanic taking your car for a spin on the autobahn after asking them to clean the windows.

Windows -> Apple converts, why did you change? by xadzin apple

[–]rnawky -11 points-10 points ago

You forgot the part where both myself and them are without a computer FOR OVER A WEEK. I've never been without my PC for more than a few hours.

I brought my first iMac in because there was residue in-between the LCD and the glass cover. They said it would take 7 days and I have to give them my password. That's right, they said in order to get something PHYSICAL off the computer, they required my password to the computer.

It's a load of bullshit.

Windows -> Apple converts, why did you change? by xadzin apple

[–]rnawky 0 points1 point ago

Funny because since getting my iMac, I've reformatted the machine more than I've reformatted a Windows machine in the same time frame. Kernel panics left and right. Still now every time I get home from work I find that OS X has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. It's ridiculous.

[–]rnawky -6 points-5 points ago

Ah see and that's where our experiences differ. One of my extended family members got their daughter a MacBook Pro and had to call me a week later because the sound stopped working. The thing got stuck on digital audio out and they had to take it in. My iMac gets kernel panics left and right with no end in sight, instantly comes on after going to sleep, keeps changing its name because "another one already exists on the network with that name" (which isn't true). Oh and let's not forget I've done a clean install 3 times on my iMac because the problems just get more and more out of hand as time goes on.

Alfred vs Spotlight by CanadianMooosein apple

[–]rnawky 10 points11 points ago

As a user of Alfred, yes it is worth it.

I use it very often to play songs via iTunes, open URL's in Safari, define words, navigate file paths, etc etc. You can do most of that with Spotlight but it's a lot nicer to have it right in the center of the screen to read.

It's funny because I was getting database connectivity errors while trying to read an article. I guess 7.0 is coming along nicely.

DragonDrop - An amazingly useful small utility for putting things down whilst drag'n'dropping by kiliankoein apple

[–]rnawky 2 points3 points ago

I was going to get it until they lied about having to "download the file first" to move an image from one Safari tab to another.

Drag the fucking tabs apart and then drag the image over, it requires two less mouse clicks than this app.

iOS 5.1.1 patches URL spoofing flaw, two other security vulnerabilities by SchruteFarmsIncin apple

That took a long time. Apple isn't too swift when it comes to patching security vulnerabilities unless it has to do with an easy way to jailbreak.
