Humanity or individual rights? Which should be emphasized? by reynoniin AskReddit

Explain please. I disagree.
Has it ever been put into practice?
Could you give an example?
How about a mentally sound person who believe they are being a burden on society? Not on their death-bed or anything...
What about when those individual rights infringe on the productivity and progress of society?
This is a paradoxical statement.
What you have said is equivalent to saying "this sentence is false".
Kind of on a tangent, but how does this apply to people that want to end their own lives?
Sam Harris sets forth a set of morals that are based on science. It proposes that it is "bad" to have the worst possible scenario for everyone. Contrarily, it is "good" to have the best possible scenario for everyone. To cause a bad situation for someone else would be "bad". It is the golden rule based on science.
Well, I'm not stating that you have anyone take care of you. I'm just posing having reason and science as a basis of moral codes. So your assertion that "We can take care of ourselves better than anyone else can" appears to me as an attack on science as a better system of moral codes.
So when individual rights and the betterment of humanity conflict, humanity gets the upper hand if I am understanding you correctly. Would you agree that a unified moral code, would prevent the slowing of scientific inquiry?
So you are therefore defining the purpose of being human to seek a purpose, but where does this framework take away that yearning for a purpose?
How do you know that individuals can take care of themselves better than reason and logic can?
So would you support morals based on science? To try to avoid the worst possible scenario for everyone? How do you determine what "slows down" society? How can you predict what will slow it down or speed it up?

Well, I'm still young, so no. I don't think I have lived my life to it's full potential, unfortunately. Cool with dying, it's a tough one. Once I have done something useful with my life, I will be cool with dying. Right now, nope.
I would be wondering whether or not I lived my life to it's full potential.

Did you know that dodecatheon is a flower?
Yes. Zues is like cats on reddit. Really awesome.
Precisely.
I dislike religions such as Christianity due to its extreme disdain for those who do not believe in it. I think it is very difficult to say that anyone is un-opinionated because we all have biases that lead us to think what we do.
To put it simply, yes. To put it more complexly, yes.
Because I am better than r/atheism. And I believe I am much more attractive.
