Flight leaves at 7AM tomorrow morning. What time should I get to DCA (leaving from Dupont) by pojodojoin washingtondc

Usually that is enough time. But I had one occasion where leaving less than 1 hour made me miss my flight.

A woman takes a photo of man she claims assaulted her. Woman cannot be named, but the photo of the man can be published. by RecQueryin MensRights

According to the story she moved cars and then went back to snap a pic of the guy. Odd that she didn't tell a conductor. Odd that the guy, who was allegedly caught in the act, didn't get up and move himself.

I don't doubt that she was groped. It just seems that she didn't actually see who did it and snapped a pic of the closest guy at the time.

Oh look it's this crap again: "The excessive use of video games in pursuit of the next thing is creating a generation of risk-adverse guys who are unable (and unwilling) to navigate the complexities and risks inherent to real-life relationships, school and employment" by RecQueryin MensRights

"be able providers when women wish to relax" - hahahaha

If the genders were reversed here and this was in a more popular subreddit SRS would run this up the flagpole in a heartbeat.

Imagine in your head a siphon. the tube goes from a bucket on a shelf down to a counter top where it levels out. After that it goes down further into a sink. If you were to create a hole at the level part it would shoot out of the hole until the supply side drained enough to stop the flow. At the same time the low end would drain.

I had always assumed he had pre-weakened the pipe. He had access to that part of the prison as soon as he could fit through the hole. We have no idea how much time elapsed between the time when he broke through the wall and when he decided it was time to execute his plan.

[–]otter111a 2 points3 points ago

So which is worse? A well managed pig isolation system or to allow pigs to fight it out. Maybe the solution would be to limit the number of pregnancies per sow per year? The point of my post was not to come off like Mr Pork Guytm but rather to point out that there are in fact 2 sides to this argument and the original post is pretty shitty at getting the facts out there to support his/her argument.

The point of my reply wasn't to weigh in on the ethics of vegetarians or vegans or omnivores. The point was that if you are trying to persuade someone or some entity to consider your moral viewpoint one would do well to make a persuasive argument/informative page rather than lobbing insults at them.

Yeah?...and? I read the wiki page. Your posting a tl;dr version of it doesn't exactly tell me what you are trying to say by "How Catholic of them"

Are you trying to say that he is not acting like a good catholic or perhaps you are trying to say "Look here is another Catholic acting immorally" Or even, You know those Catholics sure do make some good peperoni. Or, as the counterpoint to this article contends, how very Catholic of them to stand by the farmers in the face of pressure to change what they see as the most humane way to raise pigs.

I'm challenging you to construct something justifying drawing the connection between the 2. The way it stand it is simply "some guy on the internet doesn't agree with Dominos taking less than 6 months to declare a ban on pork raised in this manner. PS he's catholic"

You might want to ask yourself "Have I sufficiently researched this topic beyond the single blog post I just read to be able to conclude that this is indeed immoral?"

You know, if I were a Dominos exec and I read this article I'd probably stick my middle finger up at the author and keep doing what I was doing. It starts off insulting the company, its toppings and its ad campaign. You are well into the second paragraph before the author registers his/her complaint.

Furthermore, this is the counter argument made by big bad agriculture:

We use gestation stalls on our farm to protect our sows during pregnancy from larger, more aggressive “bully sows.” The stalls also allow us to monitor feed intake of each individual sow and tailor nutritional needs individually. If a sow isn’t eating, we know it right away and can prevent problems from occurring. We also are able to give each sow individual hands-on care daily by using the stalls. Our animals are well-cared for, content and comfortable. Until the animal experts we work with tell us there is a better way, we will continue to protect and care for our sows in this way.

So, with the onslaught of animal rights activism playing out in the marketplace, the decision by Domino’s speaks volumes to me as a farmer. It shows the company trusts the experts I trust. And it shows they trust me. I appreciate that.

In other words, the gestation stalls are not a long term pen the pigs are kept in. They use them when they are pregnant to keep them from getting hurt by other pigs.

Here's Mike Rowe from dirty jobs on discussing lamb castration. He starts off as a proponent of the PETA method of castration (which they don't like but concede is a necessary evil) vs "the old fashioned way."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-udsIV4Hmc

tl;dr The author has no idea what he/she is talking about. This seems like another necessary evil of the farming industry.

Maybe it is just me being old and cranky but there seems to be a void in "mainstream" rock music these days. Everyone seems so hell bent on finding the niche bands that no one is willing to support a band that can have mass appeal. As soon as one of these bands gets a hit their own fans seem to abandon them.

So what's a radio station to do? Reach back into the 90's and keep cranking out the major bands of the day.
