Not too shortly after 9/11, I was laying in my bed trying to take a nap. I was jolted out of bed by what sounded like a truck hitting our house. Found out later on the news that there was an incident on an airplane nearby and they scrambled fighters to intercept it. The "truck" I heard was actually an f-16 breaking the sound barrier overhead. Turns out the incident on the plane was a mentally handicapped person banging on the cockpit door.
