Governments pose greatest threat to internet, says Google's Eric Schmidt by rwalin technology

[–]migshark 0 points1 point ago

Quite a few of those links offer no/minimal evidence of wrongdoing on Google's part.

http://www.democracynow.org/2010/7/30/google_teams_up_with_cia_to

Google invested in a company that is trying to build a 'temporal analytics engine' which is is entirely within the scope of their business interests. The CIA did too for the same reason. That's all.

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/01/google-censoring-blogger/

Where 'censoring' is simply providing local hosting for bloggers, thereby exposing them to local laws. Believe it or not, some countries are more protective of information/privacy rights than the US - on paper at least (megaupload).

http://www.democracynow.org/2012/3/21/exposed_inside_the_nsas_largest_and

Is about a data-mining facility, and only mentions that some of that data might include 'Google searches'. It doesn't say anything about how they're acquired.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Information_Awareness

And

http://phys.org/news/2011-10-darpa-master-propaganda-narrative-networks.html

Are about DARPA, not mentioning Google once. I assume the implication is that due to this link:

http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012/03/dugan-darpa-google/

A member of DARPA, Regina Dugan, joining Google means that they're all buddy-buddy? She's qualified for the job, and rather than being involved in anything evil she developed tech to detect the explosive content of landmines.

A graphical comparison shows the amount of water on Jupiter's moon Europa as compared with Earth's water. Its subsurface ocean plus ice layer could range from 80 to 170 kilometers in average depth [1024x768] by mepperin spaceporn

[–]migshark 1 point2 points ago

Well you'd have to take into account not just the original liquid volume but also the change in atmospheric pressure and how that would alter temperature, the points at which the state of matter of water changes and how that would fuck with rainfall.

So I dunno.

This depends on what optimizations the client receives. The nearest comparison to WvW; EVE Online fleet battles, has made pretty steady progress at improving the experience. A large portion of it can be attributed to putting more control in the player's hands regarding what they do and don't want displayed.

'Capsicum', the term some countries use to refer to it, is also the name of the genus to which it belongs.

Doubtful. It's generally established that there won't be a stat-grind/min-maxing, but for significant effort we'll instead be rewarded with cosmetic upgrades. The ability to trade the tokens would obviously negate that.

The OP's video is from 1985, the one you are talking about happened in March of this year, I think. Your point still stands.

Control and Hotkey Questions by proteininjain Guildwars2

Nope, not with this particular keyboard. At least, my pinky and ring finger can remain on the directionals when I need to hit 9 (everything else you can retain your middle finger), but that's more than enough.

Arrows + numpad + surrounding stuff are an option, depending on type of keyboard. More than enough easily identifiable keys for 1-10, movement and UI - all within reach of the one hand. I used this setup for WoW and the BWE1 with great success.

Personally I use the lycosa for this, since it's tight-knit and flat across the board.

They'd be better for search and rescue, give them a decent light and suddenly it's not so dangerous to comb tricky terrain at night.

Sigils (or it may have been runes) also persisted in your inventory but had no level restriction, unfortunately I was still unable to use them in PVE.

They'll probably describe it as a command in the language that observers are coded, like a genetic disorder or, since it's externally introduced; HIV. How exactly they managed to 'map their genome' in the first place should be interesting.
