Is this a good tripod. I'm starting to think I made a mistake. by mezzizlein Filmmakers

I did win the bid. She messages me and said she is not going to sell it unless I pay 80 plus another 20 for shipping when the original post said shipping was free and had no reserve. Well I am looking for a tripod that can actually pan and tilt.

Update. Apparently this chick thought she put a reserve, and she thought 28 was way too low so she said she is not selling it anymore. Oh well I'll just save up for another, better tripod.

Seagate to buy LaCie for $186m as hard drive industry continues shrinking | The Verge by davidhildrethin Filmmakers

Where I used to intern at they use the same Lacie drives from 2005. I love my drive. I really hope they don't become shitty.

The Internet's response to the announcement of Heath Ledger playing the Joker........We were so wrong... by RobertF23in movies

But you see the Character is very similar. The ability to portray the character is what pissed me off about Katie Holmes. She just acted horribly IMHO. Maggie's portrayal was cocky, but that was her character, her acting was great.

What movies have you seen, expecting greatness due to the trailer but left the theater disappointed? by Copernicrunkin movies

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows BOTH OF THEM. First off it made me think hmm they have two movies now, hopefully they stay true to the book. Not only did they not do that, they made the action sequences kind of dumb, didn't show some dramatic deaths, and also the climax was not a slap to the face to the villian like it was in the book. I still think the movie was good though, but the energy wasn't the same.

With big budget flops like John Carter and the recent Battleship, what movies would you have like to seen done with a budget around $200 million. by bubba10381in movies

I believe a film series of Avatar would be better if it was split in 5-6 movies instead of 3. That way most characters actually have a part and also we understand the story because there will actually be a story.

An epic and intellectual, non-GM (bigger variety), more realistic, and robot centered version of Transformers directed by a director, not an explosion specialist.

Who do you find the most underrated person in the series? by barrelofmonkeysin Naruto

[–]mezzizle 2 points3 points ago

Sakura. Definitely her. One reason: Sasori. That fight was one of the best fights I have ever seen in the whole series, and also I used to be a dubbed watcher until I caught up with Shippuden (back in 2009) and started watching the subbed. Being introduced to her new ability right from the start of Shippuden and in JAPANESE was fucking badass. Besides that she has been a whiney lil bitch ever since. Kishi really needs to give her more screen time so we can see if she has improved ever since Sasori.

I would miss Choji. Who gives a shit about Ten Ten, shes a filler character.

What's the best tip you've ever received in your career in regards to filmmaking? by eyyyyyin Filmmakers

"Remember to never be a dick on the set, but don't be soft either. Don't scream at people, talk loudly. Leave a message to people helping you, don't call them over and over. Don't take no for an answer, unless it will get you arrested. And finally remember, nobody cares about your project as much as you do, BE NICE TO EVERYBODY THAT IS HELPING YOU. You are going to lose friends in this business I promise."- My mentor's truest words ever. He gave me other advice like don't have a big meal before shooting or else you'll be shitting, his catchphrase, but that one is common sense.

Tech question here. What cam do you usually shoot with and what frame rate! 24? And what format do you convert your video with to edit? Also what is your opinion on the new Final Cut X? Do you still use 7?

A quote from Abed Nadir, my life motto, and most likely the best piece of advice ever given. by FreeWithoutWallsin community

Me being a filmmaker in the making I love his line in 102 "It's show business, not friend business." To be honest that is the truest thing I have ever heard because after I finished my first two projects, I have never seen or heard of from most of the people who worked with me. I wasn't a douche or anything, but nobody likes to make commitments if they don't have the same interests as you.
