Nothing. It was clearly before the Tardis broke and was stuck in the police call box form.

You are standing in the middle of a frozen lake with zero friction. How do you reach the shore? by malteasermiain Physics

This was actually the most popular suggestion when my friends were discussing it. Pull in air vertically, blow it out horizontally. I'm told that the actual answer is to pee though? Its part of a crazy physics final exam we have in my college, where they can ask you anything and you have to try solve it!

Well as part of my undergraduate degree we have to undertake original research, maybe that differs to yours? It would be quite unusual here to do a masters before your phd, unless you did an undergraduate degree in a less related area to the one you're going into...

I find this strange, because in my university in Ireland, most people doing a Ph.D go into it straight after their undergrad...

In honor of St. Patty's Day.... by WastedY0uthin StandUpComedy

[–]malteasermia 0 points1 point ago

Oh my God. And now you're stereotyping me as a drunk Irish person? Sound.

If you're bothered to come in here and make a point about it, you need to get some respect about other countries traditions. There is no such name as "Patty" in Ireland - that comes from foreigners who don't care what somebody's name is. If you're going to call it St. Patrick's Day, THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM. Do not shorten it to a non-existent name. Lots of countries celebrate St, Paddy's day, genius. My point is that their ignorance of the holiday is reflected in their not giving a fuck about what its called.

Want to know why I'm getting so offended about it? Its because your ignorance is exactly like the whole worlds on St. Paddy's Day. Its just a day to get drunk and wear green. That is not what the day is about. It is about celebrating St. Patrick's life and all the good he did.

But what do I know? I'm just off to get drunk, so the whole world can not give a shit about our heritage and stereotype us as drunken fools. I'll just go into a corner and fucking deal with it.

In honor of St. Patty's Day.... by WastedY0uthin StandUpComedy

[–]malteasermia 1 point2 points ago

Well clearly not everybody gets the idea, genius. Its the national holiday of the PATRON SAINT of my country. I'll correct whoever I want when they call it something it isn't.

The reason its PADDY and not PATTY is because it comes from PADRAIG, the Irish, and not PATRICK, the English.
