I do have to say, in my district (14) they ran a fair convention as far as I can tell. Everything seemed on the up and up. I did not go inspect all the ballots after the results were announced even though they offered to have people look at them, but unless they completely pulled a fast one on us and tampered with the voting results, they were legit all around, everyone was nice and reasonable, and we had a good convention except we lost.

If you are not a precinct delegate (allows you to make motions and vote), and you are unable to attend the state convention on May 18th, then it probably won't be worth it -- although it is interesting to go and see how the process works if you have a couple hours to kill.

Nevertheless - if you can rally any friends to go with you maybe some of them could make the state convention and fill seats. Bottom line: if you can get anyone there who can commit to going on to the state convention it would be helpful.

If you are in Michigan, this is the single most important thing you can do for the Paul campaign. All you need to do is show up and fill any empty seats.

It is my understanding that attendance may be sparse, which means you can show up and fill a seat at the state convention. The state convention is May 18 @ Cobo Hall in Detroit. The state convention is where delegates will be chosen to go to the national convention in Tampa, FL (August).

You do not need to be a registered Republican, and you do not need to be a precinct delegate (although if you are you get preference). You do need to be a registered Michigan voter.

All you need to do is show up at 7PM tonight at your county convention; it may last an hour or two -- when state delegates are chosen, if there are empty seats, you declare your desire to fill a seat.

GOP has been known to try to weed out Ron Paul supporters at conventions by telling them they need to fill out a "presidential preference form" -- the purpose of which is to help them identify Ron Paul supporters so they will not make it to the state/national conventions. You do not need to fill this out if someone asked you to. Don't do it.

Also, Dress reasonably and do not identify yourself as a Ron Paul supporter until after the convention is over. If asked, identify yourself with conservative principles.

We need warm bodies there tonight -- give a couple hours...it could make or break a Michigan win -- and bring all your friends, too.

So, this is the first step in getting to the national convention in Tampa. I am hearing that there will be a lot of seats for the taking -- we just need people to show up. You don't have to be a registered Republican or a precinct delegate. You just need to be a registered voter -- show up, and when they elect delegates for the state convention, if there are openings, you declare your desire to fill a seat.

This is neat. There are a couple of other frameworks out there targeting the same capability for anyone interested.

I'm personally developing an app right now with SocketStream and it is a fantastic piece of work. I'll have to check Meteor out when I have the time to compare them more carefully.

If you're using an Apache front-end, mod_rewrite can save the day for you. You can redirect old broken links to valid links, and have a catch-all rule for all other urls to a standardized 404 page you create. You can also grep the logs to find out which links people are accessing that result in a 404 to help you write the rules.

the fuck? name me any other candidate that has done more to promote civil liberties. in all fairness, the first two issues: endless war and sound money mean more to me and no other candidate is doing anything about that.
