Having big feet ain't so bad...post your comparison shots! by LB36in tall

15 here, but the crappy part is they are 4E width. If i don't get the right width, I get ingrown toenails. Literally, even wearing normal width shoes for a couple of hours leads to problems within the week. I have had them removed from at least one side of 7 toes and both sides of 5 toes. Multiple times on 4 of those toes. Sucks, man. I will post comparisons when I have someone nearby to compare to :)

Yup. Expectations didn`t exist in the 80s. We played whatever came out. The hype machine was nonexistent. Sequels were a gift, not expected. If you were around back then, you got everything you wanted in SMB2: Mario, Luigi, new characters, and improved graphics. Anyone that says they were let down either wasn't around and playing games in the 80s or is applying a whole lot of perspective to their memories.

Brace yourself for incoming explanations as to why all of the engineers and industry experts are wrong, except for the ones that happen to work for the cable manufacturers.

Then, get ready for the people telling you that if you don't have a setup in the mid five figures and haven't done personal testing with the $500/foot cables versus the stuff the unwashed masses use, you have no business even considering entering this conversation.

Science be damned, this stuff works!

I'm going to check in on you, Mr. Raymond K. Hessel. In three months, and then six months, and then a year, and if you aren't back in school on your way to becoming a veterinarian, you will be dead.

Oh. You're one of THOSE...

Seriously, though. You are an incredible person with a lot of heart and courage. I live in South Dakota, so it means a lot to see someone from the "heartland" stand up against bigotry and ignorance.

You deserve all good things that come to you in this life. Thank you.

I knew a girl in high school that went to school in another town, so we would run into each other at ball games and other events. She was 3 years younger than me, perky as hell, blonde cheerleader.

She had a huge crush on me and was always super flirty, but nothing ever came of it. We talked about it one time and she said how badly she wanted me. I was seeing someone at the time, so I turned her down. Fast forward 3 months and I turn 18. A week later, my girlfriend and I break up. News travels fast because 2 days later, the 15 year old bombshell calls me and asks if I want to get together now that I am single.

Seeing as I was now of age, I didn't want to put myself in jeopardy, so I told her that I can't have anything to do with her. She was upset, but I finally made her understand. I ended the conversation with a flippant, Give me a call when you turn 18 and we can reconsider."

I put this girl out of my head, graduate and head off to college. I didn't hear from her, about her, or anything to do with her after that. She 100% disappeared from my life.

Flash forward three years. I am in college and enjoying life. My phone rings (a new number by now). I don't recognize caller ID. I pick up. It's her. She cuts straight to the chase.

"Hi, Zach. It's Miranda. I know we haven't talked for a long time, but I thought I should give you a call so I tracked your number down. Can you guess what day it is?" I of course have no idea.

"Happy birthday to me! Do you know how old I am? I'm 18, Zach. I'm 18 and I have nothing to do tonight. Where do you live? Let's hang out. Be there in an hour!"

Good lord. She sent me a pic as soon as I hung up. The past 3 years were even more kind to her than they had already been.

She showed up, I opened the door and invited her in. She wasted no time. We were going to work within 2 minutes.

We went at it a few more times that night, then she left. We hooked up once or twice after that. I guess she just really wanted to see what she had been pining for all those years.

Cool! See you tomorrow around 8:00 am!

Seriously, though. Props if you can do it, but I have a hunch you won't make it. You'll find some reason that it is unavoidably necessary to use the internet. Or at least rationalize that it was unavoidable.

So I guess this is a thing now at parties? by Tripninein pics

[–]justcallmezach 0 points1 point ago

That went completely out of the way to avoid the question.

Trust issues with your friends aside, any number of options that don't require you taking custody of their phones were also mentioned. The root issue here is getting people to put their damn phones down for a couple of hours.

So I guess this is a thing now at parties? by Tripninein pics

[–]justcallmezach 0 points1 point ago

You're trying to make it sound like you're taking these phones and leaving them sit unattended for extended periods (days, weeks, etc.).

Why would you leave other people's phones out (or collect them in the first place) if you aren't even home?

How often are these various tradespeople coming through your place when you're having friends over?

Don't feel bad. Until just now, my wife and I thought the same thing. We were sure that the salt would lower the boiling point and get the water boiling faster.

At least with this new information, we can stop wasting salt :)
