I hope by participating in the Walthall Artists Fellowship that I am will be able to expand my creative horizons and establish a working artistic career which allows me to thrive financially in order to create more organically. I would also like to be able to share my newly acquired knowledge with other artists at the same point in their careers in order to help further the arts community as a whole. The areas covered in the symposium series and group workshops seem tailor-made to my current situation. I am particularly interested in learning to make a living and advocacy, working with galleries and museums, and art in the public realm. I have received no formal artistic education, and I feel that these development classes could prove invaluable to pursuing my passion and life's calling. I would like to make major moves forward as a creative individual, and have the tools necessary to present my work to a broader range of individuals. I have been blessed with a large amount of hands-on learning while working in the Atlanta arts scene. Professional direction is the missing piece I require to take the next steps forward in my artistic endeavors.
