Alternative stations aren't that bad in my area. It has a variety of different types of alternative throughout the day, which is good. One day while driving I heard "Boys Don't Cry" by The Cure, "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" by The Smiths, "Ever Fallen In Love" by The Buzzcocks, I switched on that station yesterday and heard 3 Doors Down and Chevelle also. Must be because it's a college radio station, but I think it covers a good amount of alternative/modern rock.
