How can I stop subconsciously mirroring what people want me to be? by Remerezin AskReddit

You are not doing people the favor you think you are by pretending to be what you think they want. Its probably a major turn off and slightly obvious to those around you. You will probably find better friends and or like people more if you are honest about who/what you are.

First time I have been remotely freaked out on no sleep. And while I was at work, in the middle of the day. Well done.

What's the best you've ever been trolled IRL? by discidiusin AskReddit

I met this guy in March or April of '09. One day we are leaving his third floor apartment and he is walking in front of me. (now keep in mind we don't know each other well and we have never left his place at the same time) so he is walking down the stairs in front of me at a painfully slow pace, so I give him a playful push and tell him to hurry up! He stops, turns around and tells me he has really bad balance and its hard and scary for him to walk down the stairs quickly so he always takes them slowly. I laugh and think he is kidding. He continues to walk slowly down the stairs. Every time we are together for the next almost year he walks down the stairs slowly one at a time. Then about a week before April fools day, we are leaving his apartment we are almost to the bottom of the stairs and I'm in front of him ( I always tried to go down first because he was so slow) he starts running down the stairs, pushes me out of the way, jumps down the last 4 stairs and yells: "HA HA SUCKER! I can walk down the stairs just fine! April Fools!" Needless to say, I freaked out. I was super PISSED. I mean, who does that?

It's those exceptions that I'm most interested in.

This may be true. As I said, I have no problem leaving, but I would like to have a bargaining chip as to getting the deposit back in full. I've heard several landlord horror stories, and I don't want to get screwed out of my money by a guy who is obviously down on his luck.

This is a business transaction, not a charity on my part nor his. In an ideal transaction, both parties would have something to trade. I'm just wondering if there might be a legal precedent about a contract which, seemingly, contradicts the landlord/tenet laws of the state.

The point being, no one was being a douche, and there were no parties. I explained the reason he wanted me to move out. For some reason, you chose not to discuss the issue at hand and chose to see the world differently. A world where everyone on the internet is a douche, everyone except you, of course.

Yes, we had such a huge house party that the guy could no longer afford to live in his house. We were probably being total douche bags when we were mowing the lawn for the guy all summer long.

I don't feel I'm trying to pick a fight, and you're right, I don't want any bad blood. As I said, I have no intention of staying until the end of my contract. I fully intend to leave as soon as I find another place.

I had the same thought though. The guy must be pretty down on his luck and I would like to get my deposit back and have the check clear before I move out. Being down on their luck, I wouldn't put it past anyone not to try and keep the deposit in full.

I just want to make sure I'm not getting screwed more than the situation demands.
