'Soccer' vs Football. So TRUE by Cowboy_Bebopin videos

[–]hyperbad 1 point2 points ago

Actually I would argue that american football takes more thinking. Each opponent you play comes to you with their own signinature plays and approaches to the game. That's why the NFL has jargon such as 'student of the game' and 'film jockey.' The game is tremendously deep and can be studied ad infinitum. Whole new philosophies to the game appear and disappear through-out the seasons as the entire sport constantly evolves. Hell, you have 22 people on the field at the same time playing over a dozen unique positions on each play, isn't it obvious this game is going to get intellectual?

The critics of american football are not dumb per say, but ignorant of what is involved if they think it is a simple sport. It's the opposite of a simple sport.

You are appointed head of a constitutional convention to re-write the US constitution. What would you do to fix our government. by alex4991in PoliticalDiscussion

Change how those in power are held accountable. If an elected official is ever found guilty of corruption they go to prison for life. Once a person is elected to a high office, (congress, president etc) they become financially dependent to the state. They no longer can own any sort of wealth and all things of need are provided. The goal of this would be to make it impossible to buy politicians.

Money in elections would also have to changed in a dramatic way.

" Obama took a not-too-subtle swipe at his Republican opponent, Mitt Romney, declaring: “I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth.” There remains a role for government to give everybody a “fair shot,” Obama said — not just the wealthy." by reddit4in politics

[–]hyperbad 0 points1 point ago

My only argument has been that you haven't made a substantial argument yet. Saying "Solyndra" and then adding the word corruption to it is not an argument and isn't going to affect anyone with a brain. Mitt Romney would understand that businesses fail, and that's a fact of life. Quoting numbers in a vacuum doesn't mean anything to anyone. Saying failed economic policies when most the people already understand that the stimulus helped, is you showing that you don't understand the audience you are speaking to. The short of it is you need to come with actual facts, and not things you simply call facts. If you truly have a better candidate then attack the arguments with no bias and use only real facts and sound arguments or you are wasting your time here.

Bill O'Reilly fears Fox's "Glee" might "turn kids gay". by mopecorein politics

[–]hyperbad 5 points6 points ago

Anyone who thinks a show can turn you gay, or that you can simply choose to be gay... is gay. There is no way in hell that a heterosexual man can decide to be attracted to other men. That's just not the way it works. I can choose to be attracted to men just as likely as I can choose to be attracted to orangutans or lamp posts. If someone can see it in themselves to be gay, then they are either gay or bisexual. They just won't admit it.

Not to sound offensive but your point is very weak minded. All money that is spent is reinvested into the economy. The site isn't dishonest at all. You said it but you provided absolutely no logical reason. Saying why mitts rate is lower doesn't negate the fact that it's lower, in any way, shape or form. Logical fallacy??? Get real. .
