Yes, I would bet so. As a native English speaker, I find German to be extremely similar. I can zone out amongst German being spoken and feel like an outsider hearing English.

Swope Health Services may be your best bet. Enroll in their Outreach Services and then you have access to free medical care, including dental and psych for 6 months. It usually takes a month to get seen by a dentist but, hey, it's free and I know that they do extractions.
