What would soccer have to do to stop being considered gay in America? Will it ever be considered gay in the rest of the world?

According to Interpol figures, sports betting has ballooned into a $1 trillion industry, 70 percent of which is gambled on soccer.

Damn other non-soccer sports, are you even trying?

It's so accessible to anyone. All you need is a ball.

So is dodgeball. Lots of sports are accesible to anyone, none if even remotely as followed as soccer. By your logic, wrestling should be making more revenue than any other sport and be more popular than soccer.

Maybe people just enjoy soccer, and maybe people watch soccer on TV and fill up stadiums worldwide because they enjoy watching it? Could that be a possibility no?

poor people on this planet.

Soccer makes more money than baseball, basketball and football COMBINED. So much for poor people.

cricket is not and never was the 2nd most popular sport in the world. cricket promoters who say that are counting the entire population of India, Bangledesh, England...etc as being cricket fans, but that's ludicrous. It's barely a professional sport, its not even popular enough to be in the Olympics.

Soccer is like a socialist form of the metric system. Everything about soccer culture is anti-American, we hate soccer because we are fortunate enough to live in the greatest country in the world where we aren't poor and can only afford soccer like the rest of the world.

Its a widely accepted fact that the greatest country in the world is not racist, we even picked a black president, that's how much racism is a non-issue here.

I think this just gives us (Americans) even more reasons to hate soccer. Its already dull to watch with only 1 or 2 goals a game which sucks but now the fans are racists as well and they want us to respect this so called "sport"?

Anybody on here excited for "The Super Bowl of Soccer" according to Fox? by gayunicornrainbowsin sports

Ok, but why would this even bother you? In soccer, the teams name was never on the front of the jersey, ever team has a team crest (logo in american sports I guess) that are placed on the left side over the heart. The front is just empty space that can be sold to a sponsor.

Euro Cup, Tour du France, Wimbledon, Olympics, not going to miss a thing! by laekonin sports

You must be really new to the sport if you don't know, but basically.. its the second biggest (most watched) sports tournament globally after the World Cup, generally generating between 150-250 million viewers for the final match depending on the match-up. By most soccer fans, its considered an overall better tournament than the World Cup to watch, because of better fans, better players and better teams. Because its a tournament run by UEFA and not FIFA, there isn't the same level of corruption and shitty refs.

If you are American and only watch a bit of the World Cup and base your views of the sport based on that, forget that and watch Euro 2012 instead.

I know American ironically have a problem with this, but now it would look weird if there weren't team sponsors. A team with no big time sponsor would look amateur now, like nobody wants to sponsor them.

I'd also take team sponsors over commercial breaks too, I know most people (outside the US at least) would prefer it as well.
