Just find some girl to hook up with, that might help.

I asked him when we were still together if he thought he would need any of the parts for other projects, since we got them for free I was just trying to be fair. He said that he had no other use for them and they were solely for me.

Mailing the parts seems a bit much, I considered that. But he lives on my street. I guess I could ask him to leave them in my front screen door or something.

Hi there. I had a situation sort of like this once.

My ex would masturbate in the living room when I was in the bedroom even though I had just offered him pleasure. When we did have sex, it was short (and it never had been before). He would deny masturbating when I was there even though he would be silly and leave his cum tissues around.

Yea. I don't think he is cheating on me. The fact that he told me in the first place he got a text from a number he didnt know and thought it was funny shows me that he really didn't intend on putting himself in a place where I wanted a lighthearted followup. I don't think it's a big deal. But still. A lie is a lie.

This is a great way of looking at it. I think that my only issue after this is that I don't think it's very plausible that it WAS Jessica. But again, I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. And I will bring up these points with him.

No it doesn't. I give him a lot of privacy and he doesnt give me quite the same amount. I'm okay with it because he's been cheated on and is rather insecure. I try to be fair. I didn't even care about the content of the messages, just what was going through his head at that moment that he felt he needed to lie. I don't ever lie to him... it's unnerving.

The strange thing about Jess is that i know her, she is in a serious relationship and hes spoken to/seen her a few times since we've been dating. I've seen her too. I have never been threatened by her. So why would he lie about a SUPPOSED text from her NOW?

I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his final story. It's hard though, especially when he's accused me of lying before and I haven't been. In this case I'm inclined to say that after he dug himself into a hole with the first two lies, he just took several minutes to think of a reasonable reason for doing that.

I appreciate your advice on parts 2 and 3. Should I wait to calm my heart down a little or confront it today? I know he's not cheating on me. It's just hard.

Well thats kind of why I'm here in the first place. We did talk about it. He said he was sorry, and (as I said in the OP) that he lied because he thought I would be mad. To me that's reasonable enough. I tried in my most expressive words that I understand his business is his business, and that I made a mistake seeing him texting in the first place, but that he never needs to lie to me. He said Okay and I said Okay. We hugged and went our separate ways for the day.

This is still on my mind though. Perhaps I let it go too quickly. Or perhaps I still don't believe the final story.

Jaskmackey, My thing with your advice is I agree completely. I don't breath down his neck. But the one time I really do ask whats going on he lies to me. He constantly says he loves that I respect his space, dont need to know his business, etc. He constantly is asking me who Im texting, if I had slept with any guy that Im conversing with. I dont feel like its fair to treat him the same way because clearly Im more secure with us. The one time I ask, he lies.
