My Good Thoughts List. by Pataractsin depression

[–]eliotmc 1 point2 points ago

damn you're almost me, 19 year old uni dropout, 3 years though. not sure about the first 2, though that may be me. I am a rather extreme introvert, and not don't really care about what I control or care about the past, its one of the things that bothers me the most. But yea, anything that works for you, chase it. Hope all goes well.

Hello. I'm 16. I hate my life. I cut myself today. by depressionbullshitin depression

[–]eliotmc 0 points1 point ago

16 is the beginning of the transition to adulthood, you'll probably find yourself with more freedom than previously experienced, I know I did, after the next couple years you've got uni, or a job, become self sustaining, live by yourself become completely independent, confined by nothing.

Seconded, thought I'd be clever and do it on my leg because hey I wear trousers all the time, summer rolled round and I'd kill to put some shorts on, fat chance of that now. Not just that but when i move on in my life find a gf oh hey what's that on your leg. Have kids, take them swimming oh dad what happened to your leg. It sticks round a fuck lot longer than that relief.

Thanks, I'm dyslexic and at times my thoughts are there but everywhere, kinda hard to write and get my point across, but yea hope this is just a temporal thing, from what I've heard stress can play a huge part. Good luck in your exams.

Cheated on my Girlfriend. She attempted suicide. The guilt is depressing. by throwaway_account_54in depression

[–]eliotmc 1 point2 points ago

To start I'd say that you did the right thing by confessing, or at least in my eyes, I'd rather live in a world with less, well, douchebags, the people who would have no qualm with cheating. But the most important thing is that you CANNOT blame yourself for what happened after, if you were to talk to virtually anyone and ask them what they'd do if their partner cheated on them you wouldn't get the answer of suicide. It's an extremely rare outcome, if you consider the volume of people that in their lifetime have been cheated on and their reaction to it you wouldn't of guessed it would happen to you. I know I'm terrible at explaining but think of it rationally the chance of it happening and the chance it happens to you.

Secondly, people are never defined by a single action, so why let yourself be defined by a single thing that you regret. It's not something that you should forget but something to build around. Even if you still continue to see yourself as a "cheating bastard" then would that not spur you on to do other things to redefine yourself as a "better person".

You say without your family, have you told them? It may be worth a shot, but depends on yourself, I've spoken to people who've said it gave a huge sense of relief and things, while for myself I prefer my own company anyway and my family have gotten hugely clingy, also would it be safe to assume you to start a sixth form or college come september, new opportunities to try again even if this time you decide not to mention it, in some cases I regret the decision. But it's safe to say I spend most of my time pissing about on the internet so if you do ever feel alone I can talk, as I'm sure many other people on this subreddit will.

Sorry I'm crap at this stuff, I've re written a message about 4 times. Right, if you feel you've waited long enough go make another appointment or go see a different doctor, it doesn't really matter if you only see 1, I've seen 4 or 5 now. If you do get put on antidepressants be very aware that they take time to work as opposed St John's Wort, also there will probably be some measure of side effects also its quite trial and error finding one that works. However seeing as you've said it's due to combined things it may be worth waiting exam season out and see how you feel after (presuming you've not felt this bad for a prolonged period of time) If you're averaging those grades then exams should be alright for you even if you have trouble studying.

TL; DR if its recent considering waiting exam season out, if not then try a doctor again, same or different take control of it.

As harsh as this sounds they may not be the friends you thought they were, I'm 19, first year at uni, depression 3 years, told my best friend several months ago, she's told me she thinks it's untrue but then I also found out that she has told other people to ignore me as I'm faking and attention seeking. I've found it's pretty much trial and error with friends, found someone at uni who's been through a similar situation so she understands. But I don't know, maybe people who've not undergone depression may never really understand and will find you an inconvenience to their happiness.

Still trying to figure out how it's possible to be "good" at COD games. by DinoJr14in mw3

[–]eliotmc 0 points1 point ago

I think it's mostly the mindset, I mean if you run toward the red dots and hold the middle of the map there's so many ways to get shot from, so pretty much just flank, constantly flank, then apart from that silencers are my best friend, because of the flanking you'll often be a lone wolf so alerting everyone on their team isn't the best thing, often means you can take out 3-4 guys per flank. also if you don't already use quickdraw, it's a big help in 1v1, also crank up the sensitivity. that helps a lot. Mind you I've not played this for about 3 months, but when I left this worked a dream.

Top 5 Guns by JWILL225in mw3

[–]eliotmc 0 points1 point ago

not played cod for about 3 month now but from what I can remember ACR hands down best gun, silenced awesome iron sight (what beats the G36C for my play style) then is it the CM901? something like that, then can honestly say I've never had need for another gun, tbh I only use the CM901 when I get bored of the ACR.

Came here to link this just because it's not conventional instruments doesn't mean it's not music. If you cannot appreciate it in its original form then maybe as a half way house you can appreciate it through this version. Might be easier for the less open minded.

yea it's a bitch on the first playthrough, i was with a faith knight. tried to run up and hit him, nope, no worries I've great miracle spear, hang on there's no health bar, ooh he's cursing me, put my cursebite ring on, now maybe I've got to destroy something, ran around healing myself for the next 5 minutes trying to hit something.

normally there is a death imminent sign, before, but later on you can make your way back into that room so is possible to reclaim them if unlikely also they are un blockable no matter what stage of the game

4 kings isn't that bad I found, I've killed them first time on each new game, yet to fight on NG+ though, get in close where they do a pitiful amount of damage and keep on swinging, only good attack there is their magic or grab, just man up and heal after then keep swinging.

I run to the corner, just before the 3 rats, as far left without going in that room, pop my bow up, dex at 20 pharis bow, shoot his head, he'll jump and stomp on the bridge can get 4 arrows or so off, he'll go back to perch, shoot head rinse and repeat, takes less than 50 arrows if i remember correctly, though if you use a weak bow or something he heals himself, drawing out the fight or making it impossible

noobie tip: return to undead asylum and practice parrying by hatynin darksouls

[–]eliotmc 1 point2 points ago

I've found the best place to parry is anor london at the last bonfire, a quick run around there, about 10 silver knights with swords/spears get 12k in souls it's fight filled so not a dull run. I've found from there I can parry anything but those annoying i'm gonna hit you, oh wait i'm gonna hold my sword in the air for a moment, are you ready, i'm gonna hit you, then hits you attacks, they piss me off
