I was around 12 years old when what I'm about to tell you happened.

I was new at MMORPG, so I was naive. The first MMORPG I have ever played is Tibia. A friend at school introduced me to it.

So there I was in Rookgard. With a brand new account and a brand new character, off to the world to kill some rats with my club at the sewers. I started to level up and level up and discovered I could cross the bridge to the fields and face the unknown mosters of Rookgard. I met a some guy that wanted my help to kill some skelletons. Since I was new to the game I had neve seen any skelleton or knew how tuff they are. We went to a cemetery and we helped each other out untill there was only one skelleton left. He then said "I forgot to get a rope, can you give yours, I go up and throw it back?" I said "Of course, here you go" He then took the rope roped up some rotworm from the lower level and ran away saying "I'll get back when you're dead to loot you up". It was a trap. Needless to say, I died and he got every stuff I had. That day I lost my innocence and started being mean with noobs in MMORPGs not like bullying, but like tricking them into dying and giving me free stuff.

In one hand it was good for me because it prepared me for the anonymous crazyness that is the intertubes. On the other hand I felt betrayed by some random player that I connected with.
