Assuming you and most of your peers are white, do you have any comments on kids adapting "rap culture"?

My favorite part of this is when the three of them fight over their version of street-cred- how many people want to hurt/kill them.

[Hebrew --> English or Russian] Message on a postcard. Handwritten. by Shigofumiin translator

[–]dsnfjhsdbnfhj 5 points6 points ago

Dear "sura", I have been looking at this site for 5 years already, but this is the first postcard I write in Hebrew. In short, I was born in Novi Sad, which is in Yugoslavia (Austria-Hungary). I lived in Tel Aviv for 4 years and I've been living in France for 13 years already. I wish you all the best in your studies.

What's this? No this right isn't "fundamental" enough to top the list of ordered liberties.

I have a question for the jewish people of Reddit concerning Israel, Im am not trolling, this is as sincere as it ever could be. by xAsianZombiein Judaism

[–]dsnfjhsdbnfhj 0 points1 point ago

From the link (emphasis added):

The country has also been an associate member of the Western European Union since 1992, and is a part of the "Western Europe" branch of the Western European and Others Group (WEOG) at the United Nations.

(And Israel submits songs to the Eurovision contest...)

Where is Turkey? Europe?

Edit: Seriously though, I thought that when the West started talking about the Middle/Near East the term largely centered around Turkey and the Ottoman Empire. If it means anything, the CIA thinks Turkey is the Middle East. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/tu.html

In the past 100 years, only two countries made it illegal for Jews and non-Jews to marry: Nazi Germany and Israel by luckiluin worldpolitics

[–]dsnfjhsdbnfhj 8 points9 points ago*

That's not true, plenty of countries (many if not most Middle Eastern countries) made it illegal. The Jewish community in Lebanon, for example, was not/is not allowed to marry Christians or Muslims (who cannot marry each other either in Lebanon).

That being said the question isn't about Africans. It's about Africans in North America before the Civil War.

Thanks. As far as the second question, I meant what are things you've found to be true from your life experiences. Maybe it's something like "Everything is politics" or something about a world view, fate or justice.

Reddit, what is your favourite quote from a book? by [deleted]in AskReddit

[–]dsnfjhsdbnfhj 0 points1 point ago

I think it's might have been a simplification for him. He writes, ‘Thou mayest rule over sin.’, when it's easier than just copying down the whole subjunctive, ...הֲלוֹא אִם-תֵּיטִיב.

The Arabs were subjugated by the Turks between the 16th and 19th centuries, but most loanwords seemed to drift from Arabic to Turkish, and not vice-versa. Why is this, or did Turkish language have a greater influence on Arabic than I have been led to believe? by Shakedown_1979in linguistics

[–]dsnfjhsdbnfhj 2 points3 points ago

Wikitionary seems to think it's Persian. But just because it has a 4 letter root and appears in Turkish (or persian, for that matter) as well doesn't mean it's origin is not Arabic.
