This is one of those podcasts that I can listen to whenever I don't have anything else to listen to. It's great because I don't have to worry about being current on pop culture or worrying about it getting dated.

I live near the beach in California and I see the green flash all the time. I'm not bragging or anything, but this phenomenon is not really that unusual. It's very cool, but you have to know what you're looking for. First off, the picture is super zoomed in. The green "flash" is very small and it's not a "flash", but simply the very last portion of the sun when it goes down on clear days. It also lasts only about 1 or 2 seconds. If you have binoculars to look at it, it's even easier to see.

If this is the type of thing that Brown will do to insure his re-election, then I'm fine with him winning. I would very much like to see Warren get the seat, but it's nice to see what a little competition will make people do.

It's been several years since I read the books. I haven't seen the last installment of the films. I remember reading the books though, and thinking that the revelation that Snape was actually a "real" bad guy was disappointing. I seem to recall that the first 5 or 6 books played it up so that Snape acted sort of like a bad guy, but was really good at heart. In the last 1 or 2 books, I think that he turned out to really be a bad guy. I always thought it was a great disappointment that he was truly evil. Why didn't Dumbledore see through him earlier? Am I remembering correctly about all this? What were Snape's motivations?

Anyone?

Well, it's been about 5 years since I've seen the film, so I don't exactly remember details- but:

How exactly did they feed this gigantic crew of the Valdez? with fish?

How did they manage to have cigarettes?

How could they still have that much canned food on board the Valdez? I figured this film would have to be set at least 100 years in the future, if not more.

Where was the gas for the jetskis refined?

How did Costner's boat get built. It was pretty fancy.

I could probably think up a bunch more if I watched the movie again. Waste of time though. I'm trying to analyze a crappy action film.

I was surprised when watching the movie, years after it came out, that it was actually fairly enjoyable. That being said, I had some issues with the film that bug me to this day. They're the type of things that are only incidental to the film, but just continue to irk me- as a science oriented person.

Firstly, the amount of water required to cover the earth to the depths depicted in the film are far greater than the amount available through the melting of the ice caps.

I am so wanting them to team up again. Still, after tonights beatdown of Nucky's brother- I don't see how it can happen. I guess I'd root for Nucky in the end though. I don't like to see such blatant disloyalty go unpunished.

I think they'll continue to grapple for their various sides, but with a respect towards each other. Or maybe not. I really liked how they sized each other up and realized that they were dealing with someone serious.
