Check out your local Asian markets, they sell huge bags for cheap! The wasabi flavored ones have a great kick.

Why don't apps like myfitnesspal make one simple change to help people be more successful? by thejokeisonusin loseit

[–]detsher77 -1 points0 points ago

I've had the opposite issue with Loseit.com. They way over estimate calories in food ( i.e. 120 calories in one slice of swiss cheese instead of 80). I'm honestly not sure about exercise calories - it says an hour of yoga is 154 burned, seems low but it could be right on.

The real value is the awareness of what you're eating. I'm doing keto so making sure my nutrients are in balance is the best!

I highly recommend Bryan Kest's Power Yoga series. It's always challenging but completely attainable and he makes a lot of effort to not push and work gradually. You can do it!

Have I hit a plateau already? Say it ain't so... by Meltdown-Syndromein keto

Drink as much ice cold water as you can stand. Our bodies do a pretty good job of telling us when enough isn't enough or too much is too much, we just have to listen.

My sister is also doing keto with me and my husband and she continually complains of headaches and dizziness, my first question is always - did you drink any water today? And the answer is also, no I had Coke Zero.

You'll become more and more aware of stuff like this as time goes on. Definitely don't get discouraged by 6 days! Remember, 2lbs per week is considered excellent!

Lots of haters here on Walden Farms. I've never tried those three products, but the maple syrup is AMAZING! Also, it doesn't have any maltodextrin, aspartame, or other weird gunk. I just bought their chocolate and caramel sauces today, going to try them soon!

EDIT: Okay, went to try them for the heck of it. The chocolate sauce tastes like ass, but could be made better by adding cocoa powder or unsweetened chocolate. The caramel sauce tastes more like butterscotch, which is fine, but it has a wicked after taste. I did not experience this with the maple syrup.

If you want to cure pudding cravings - eat pudding! Heavy whipping cream, egg yolks, your choice of flavor (like vanilla) and any sugar free sweeter - bam, creamiest pudding evar.

This is really inspiring! I'm also 5'7", CW: 221 with a "realistic" goal of 170. I don't think I could even physically get under 150 in a healthy way, but seeing your progress, maybe I have a body like that under here too.

Thanks!

Yes, agreed. I do miss that juciy freshness of oranges, I used to eat 3 or 4 a week. But it is worth it. I may go to paleo once I hit my goals to get my fresh fruit back, in small amounts.

I'm really missing fruit too! I'm going to slowly add in some occasion berries, maybe in a zabaglione, just for that tart refreshing bite.

In one word: decadence.

Eggs and heavy cream to make rich custards, bacon wrapped steak, brie and roasted asparagus.

I have to stop and ask myself, am I really on a diet?

2 weeks in, feel like crap and only 3 lbs down, what am I doing wrong? by Oici812in keto

Yeah, I'm not following that to the letter, but I'm avoiding artificial sweeteners, veggies with too much sugar, and highly processed meats or cheese.

/r/keto, would you mind looking over my shopping list? by subignitionin keto

Sour cream is high in carbs, usually, so be careful how much you use (15g/cup).

I'd include: More greens: Kale, Broccoli, Asparagus, fresh Spinach - you can add any of these to any meat you're cooking.

Hard Cheese: Smoked Gouda, Parmesan, Sharp White Cheddar - whatever you like! Especially good for a snack or on chicken.

Salmon: Good source of Omega-3, some good cheap options in frozen

Pepperoni slices and cheese make a nice finger food snack.

Cream Cheese makes some amazing things like this. Just be careful of the carbs.

Peppers are an excellent way to add flavor, grilled right next to your meats.

More than Stevia or Sucralose, it's the Maltodextrin used as filler in both of those products in granular form. Malto is a starch derived from corn that has TWICE the glycemic index of table sugar.

When I found this out.. I really couldn't believe it. But once you start looking for it you realize it's in everything.

Along with the other comments, I'd add to try less processed and packaged foods, there's a lot of gunk hiding in that stuff that can cause water retention. This site really helped me.

Warning! I am still looking for more valid resources, but I read this and it makes me a bit nervous: "The carbs from Splenda come from a filler called maltodextrin. This is used to give Splenda equal measure to sugar. The danger is that maltodextrin has an extremely high glycemic index of 105. This is 5 points higher than glucose which is 100. And, it is almost double that of table sugar which is around 59." Source

A week on keto and temptation by carpolain keto

[–]detsher77 0 points1 point ago

Congrats!

Today is my one week with Keto and I'm so happy (and down 8 lbs)! Yesterday, I facilitated an 8 hour training and when I arrived, the site had provided a huge carbolicious breakfast from Panera with bagels, yogurt, and granola.

Two weeks ago, that would've been my ideal breakfast, yesterday, I politely declined. Huge victory, lol.
