Thats a really grey area that I don't think you would win. You would be disassembling part of his car. One could make the same argument about disassembling the entire vehicle not technically being damage. The fact is, part of the value of the vehicle is in its assembly, a large part as a matter of fact. Therefor by disassembling it, you are removing value and thus vandalizing the car.

I like your braNd of crazy, though I fail to see how ending patents or copyright would effectively make it impossible to sell software. I could closely guard the source of the software to prevent anyone else from making a binary of it themselves. I could also enforce draconian activation schemes if I really wanted to make sure nobody else could distribute the software. If I was super paranoid I could even make it so the software is available only as a website that you must least in to use. There are lots of nice and easy ways to make software require payment even if you don't have copyright law available to you to back iet up.

Run the system monitor when this happens and see whats eating up all your RAM. This is the likely cause. If nothing is, start googling swapiness. Its a tunable kernel parameter that affects this kind of thing.

Yeah like I said, it's not a background file. The image clearly (well fuzzy but clear enough) shows a google-chrome browser open to a website with that image in it. The blur is then stuck with that image open. If you never have seen that image before, someone is screwing with you.

The blur texture for the background of the dash has not updated after you moved your browser out from under it. If you look closely you can see the browser tabs blurred at the top. While this bug is clearly unfortunate, this screenshot is likely staged to show the bugs problem quite clearly.

Either way, the blur texture not updating is being fixed in the 5.6 series (provided the branch lands). Its a simple matter of failing to catch a couple corner cases where a plugin triggers damage events at the same time as the xserver, causing us to miss them in the process of ignoring the plugin damage.

edit - I don't mean to imply OP is the person staging this event. Someone has intentionally staged the event. If possible you should ensure "Active Blur" is enabled in the unity plugin instead of "Static Blur"

scroll wheel will work too (we think, depends on how that tests next to a scrolling dash view).

As for a horizontal scroll bar, there will be a visual representation of one when you drag. Your drag interactions are accelerated beyond a one to one mapping to make navigating much easier. Essentially the entire coverflow acts as a massive grab handle that you can grab and scroll with. It also supports kinetic scroll so you can flick through it with either touch or a mouse.

I dont normally comment in here anymore but: This was caused by a a relayout storm eating lots of CPU cycles. This was fixed. If you're still having major performance issues and not on intel hardware (they are really slow at making textures), please file a bug.

Yes though I don't rev support who refuse to drop ammo after I chase them for a minute asking for it and wasting my pistol ammo on them. I will however wait for them to die, take their kit, resupply, take back my assault, and move on.

It can be completely justified if you, like me, spend a lot of time on the road and in hotel rooms. I hate being bored on trips for weeks at a time. My gaming rig is probably the best investment I made. I spent 1.2k for a 15" laptop (Full HD), i7 quad @ 2.4Ghz, 16GB RAM, and a 560GTX with 1.5GB of vram. I can run BF3 at high settings :)

Yes I paid more than a desktop machine and it probably performs worse, but its soooo nice to have it with me in whatever random country I happen to be stuck in for a week or two.

Heat isn't an issue either, modern gaming laptops with proper thermal design have more than enough cooling. My laptop doesn't even get warm to the touch (internal temps stay down too)... just don't block the vents :)

I couldn't walk for about a week due to the pain, and I can still easily re-injure my back. Oh and my girlfriend was watching and spent most of the initial moments laughing her ass off. I kept her.
