Ce qui s'est passé ce soir à la manif - arrestation de masse by cesoirquebecin Quebec

[–]daoom 0 points1 point ago

Remember that your rights end where mine begin. You have the right to express yourself, but when that expression takes on a form that causes public safety issues then there is clear conflict between you rights and the rights of people around you and that where the police step in.

The protests have shown to be a nightly source of vandalism and violence, therefore the police are completely in the right to be stopping them. If choose to remain after being ordered to disperse, then the police will disperse you by other means.

Quebec is trampling basic human rights to quash student protests by koavfin worldnews

[–]daoom 0 points1 point ago

when you've obviously made up your mind that the students are wrong

I do not agree with them, but being a fan of democracy I support their right to express themselves. The problem is that it is quickly going from "expressing themselves" to "trying to get their way by any means necessary". They are not being oppressed, the costs are not astronomical nor out of line with what a comparable service costs anywhere else in the country, and the government has offered to put into place bursaries to help people with financial problems. The decision was taken by dully elected representatives, and the majority of citizens support that decision.

As a fundamental, remember this: your rights end where mine begin. You have the right to express yourself, but when your chosen medium is infringing on my freedom and my safety of everybody, as the nightly protest currently are, then you are in the wrong and the police need to step in to restore the balance.

You are not "revolutionaries" and you will not change anything since most people are simply annoyed by you. Your message and dis-satisfaction has heard loud and the majority of the population simply doesn't care and wants you to shut up.

That's a fallacious overgeneralization, and you know it.

Hardly. I have heard the screen of encouragement from the crows when these guys do their thing.

[–]daoom -1 points0 points ago

Do you want to be allowed to protest "peacefully" without getting tear gassed and arrested? Then you have to be part of the solution when it comes to preventing the vandalism and the violence. Instead of cheering these guys on, you need to work with the police on ways to isolate them and facilitate their arrest.

Until you put this into practice then you'll be seen as sheltering them and will be treated as such by the authorities.

but if some random assjack does the same thing and you just happen to be holding a bullhorn

Identify them to the police and turn them in. Better yet, film them and hand the footage over to the police.

Not going to happen though since we all know that these guys are considered heroes by most of the "peaceful" protesters.

A more correct statement is that Quebec is preventing rioters from breaking stuff and hurting people.

Je pardonnerai jamais à la police d'avoir arrêter tout le monde pour deux casseurs.

Did you tell the police who they were when you had a chance? Maybe film or take pictures of the two as evidence?

I didn't think so.

STM union urges members to stop bussing SPVM officers by MTLFOTOGRAFin montreal

[–]daoom 0 points1 point ago

Their collective bargaining agreement gives them the right to refuse overtime, so they have the right to refuse to bus the officers.

Apparently you can't think for yourself so I'll spell it out for you. Their agreement gives them the right to refuse overtime, not work altogether or who they bus around. If the union wants to get special about it then they just need to rework the schedule so busing the cops around is NOT overtime.

This is just posturing anyway and will probably be a non issue; bus drivers live on overtime.

Guys, do you like it when a girl is assertive asking for sex? by throwaway83249in sex

[–]daoom 4 points5 points ago

Think I scare a guy when I tell him I'm horny and want to fuck. Is this a common male reaction, or what is going on?

We love it when it's genuine but not when used as part of a larger gambit to try and control us.

By holding off until after he told you he was busy you put him a position where needs to choose between you and his friends, a game which is always played by women and which men hate. Not only that, but from your description this is a casual relationship and this type of game is usually not welcome in that context. Because you started playing this game he may now think you want this to be "more" which might scare him off is all he wants is casual sex. If he starts ignoring you then it's a clear sign that this is the case.

Or he just didn't see the message or started ignoring your messages at some point since he was going out with his buddies.

I really hope we don't see cop burnout as any sort of victory. The vast majority of cops are good public employees who want to help out. Fighting them will not get us anywhere. by kylemacmacin montreal

I'll be waiting to see you step up and help the police catch those responsible for the violence.

American Heart Association: Tasers can cause death by allliein science

Look up the term "excited delirium" which is an excuse offered by TASER to explain taser deaths.

[Citation needed]

People have spent years studying in-custody death and these can happen whether or not a taser is ever used.

"But the American Heart Association's premier journal, Circulation, published an article online Monday that examined eight cases involving the TASER X26 ECD. Seven of the people died."

They're drawing a conclusion from a study that looked at 8 cases ...really?

Even if it might sometimes cause death, the alternative is often for officer to use a firearm. Would you rather get shocked or shot?

The city owns the buses, the city employs the workers, the city makes the decisions. The "workers" do not get to decide how the buses are used.

Until the protester stop allowing themselves to be a shield for those committing acts and vandalism and violence they will be treated as being in tacit support and even collusion with those doing it.

You want to stop being treated that way? Then police yourselves. Identify those who commit the violence to the police. Better yet, detail them and hand them over to the police yourselves.

But that's not going to happen, is it? Most of you think of those who are breaking things and hurting people are "heros" and "revolutionaries". While you all call for "peaceful" protests deep down you all let out a quiet cheer and get a warm fussy feeling when you see someone throw a brick through a window or set fire to car. This is why you get pepper sprayed, and this is why you're seen as nothing more then hooligans throwing a temper tantrum.

Yeah I've known talented people in finance who made big bucks right out of school and as you mentioned the hours and the competitiveness are insane. Only about 10% last more than a year, most burn out or get fired.

You my friend are out to lunch and in for a serious reality check when you leave school. A graduating students getting offered such a salary is the rare exception to the rule, and only because they are the cream, may already hold several patents from their graduate work, and know the right people.

That said, I'd love to be on the other side of the table when you interview for jobs. Crushing your over-inflated ego would bring me so much pleasure.
