I guess this is what happens when you lie to and cheat on your wife - and then you die before she does. by beeedeeein pics

She was buried three years, to the day, after him.

I stumbled upon this in Morton Cemetery in Richmond, TX. I'm just guessing about the circumstances. She is buried next to him though...

That's not a felony, it's $50.

Are you serious?? Poor dog tied to the back of a car. by ajinomotoin WTF

The dog appears to be muzzled as well. Perhaps he's rabid and they're taking him to the vet. Who knows?

This is what carpenter ants can do to a tree. I thought it was pretty cool. Sorry for the cellphone pic. by beeedeeein pics

I'm not arguing against the common sense element here. Sure, it makes sense. What I'm saying is that there's not, as far as I know, a law that states that this is something that you MUST do. I lock the doors of my car when I leave it unattended for the same reasons - and there's no law that says that I must do that. I believe that it's a great idea, but I don't know of any law that mandates it.

I believe that one of two things happened in your friend's case: 1) Your friend simply misunderstood 2) The instructor misstated fact . I'd challenge you to provide statutory evidence of what you've stated. Maybe have your friend contact his CHL instructor and get the info. I've been a TX CHL holder for many years and have never heard anything related to a requirement to keep a weapon in a locked container inside a vehicle in TX. I'm not saying that statute never existed, perhaps it did at some point, but I do not believe that's the case now. In fact, until it became dangerous to do so due to theft, many people kept rifles and shotguns in gun racks in the rear windows of pickup trucks - in plain view. These days, that's a quick ticket to a broken window and a missing gun.

Show me the statute that you're referring to. I do not believe that it exists. The only law in Texas that I'm aware of that refers to storage of a firearm indicates that it must be kept in a manner in which a child cannot access it. That'd be THIS ONE. A locked car is sufficient, even in that case.

This isn't true at all. H.B. 1815, a bill that allows any Texas resident to carry a concealed handgun in the resident's motor vehicle without a CHL or other permit. Chapter 46, Section 2 of the Penal Code states that it is in fact not "Unlawful Carry of a Weapon" for a person to carry a weapon while in a motor vehicle they own or control, or to carry while heading directly from the person's home to that car. However, lawful carry while in a vehicle requires these three critical qualifiers: (1) the gun must be concealed; (2) the carrier cannot be involved in criminal activities; and (3) the carrier cannot be a member of a criminal gang.

The best $7.50 I have ever spent...What's the best money you have ever spent? by honorhealnurturein AskReddit

And if you had a good job, some savings and a bright future and decided you wanted to have kids - then after they're born, you lose that job or have an accident and can't work and can no longer afford the kids - and have to chose between, let's say, having electricity this month and letting your kid keep their Christmas gifts - how would you chose? Sometimes life isn't fair, but being "giftless" is better than freezing or starving, for sure. Life isn't always cut and dried.

ETA: That's not me downvoting you.

Not saying it should be - but the statement about not having kids if you can't afford them isn't exactly a fair one. Circumstances change. Maybe they were millionaires and lost it all - who's to say? Perhaps they were perfectly capable of supporting their kids, and then had a bad accident or the like and can't work and therefore can't "afford" to have kids now. That's all I'm saying. The comment that I'm referencing is pretty short sighted.

You never know what their situation was. Perhaps they COULD afford a kid and then circumstances changed. What are they supposed to do then, sell the kid?

Guy who got hit with a bottle at the saints/lions game is a FAKER by ilea316in nfl

[–]beeedeee -2 points-1 points ago

Went to Baton Rouge with a buddy and his wife for the Ole Miss vs LSU game in 1997 - as an Ole Miss fan, Tiger Stadium is about as far from a friendly atmosphere as there could possibly be. Ole Miss won 36-21. On the way back to the car, a guy came out of nowhere and broke a Jim Beam bottle over my buddy's head. He had to have 70+ staples to put his scalp back together. An LSU fan who happened to be walking near us and I managed to grab the guy and hold on to him until the cops and paramedics arrived. When the cops asked the guy why he did it, he told them, "He's an Ole Miss fan - it's my job to fuck him up!". Our Saints fan base is made up of a LOT of LSU fans, and while they're not all messed up like this, there are more than a few that are. It wouldn't surprise me at all if a Saints fan bashed the guy with a beer bottle. Not one bit. And that's coming from a die hard, life long Saints fan.
