Caretakers Gazeete has listings but you have to subscribe. You can place an ad listing your vitae and what you are looking for. I lived and worked in a Youth Hostel. It was a work exchange allowing me plenty of time to work a paying job. I have also lived on farms, a nature preserve a retreat and a private park where a human presence was needed but work was minimal. Just tell everyone you know what you are looking for and it will happen. Looking in rural print want ads, contacting state organic farm organization newsletters and WWOOF (willing workers on organic farms) are ways of tracking down interesting housing.

I was seven and it was '66! I only saw a couple games a season as a kid but what was regal to me was Lon Simmons on the radio. He and later with Bill King could totally keep me entranced. I must have low testosterone because I never lived or died with these guys. The Giants were always a Zen experience for me especially as an adult at the stick, 11 0'clock at night, windy, freezing, 43 people cheering Ernie Camacho...just being there was very soothing and satisfying.

You're retired and have enough money to live a happy life; how do you spend your time wisely, mindfully, and enjoyably? by DontKnowWhatToDo1in Buddhism

My neighbor has been retired for 15 years and he spends his time helping just about everybody. He takes his time, never stresses, laughs, drinks beer, watches football games, enjoys his family and makes everybody around him happier and a better person. He says he cannot imagine it possible to enjoy life more.

This thing can turn on a dime. Both teams can win it still. My mom took me out to Candlestick on a school day (yay mom) so I could watch Willie Mays but I still want Texas to roar back and make it a good seven game psychogrueler.

Sorry to hear you do not have access to familial ancient wisdom. Today I hung out with a Kurd who literally ran for his life from Saddams gas attacks (which claimed his brothers life) and after being chased as an illegal across 20 countries (no papers, passport, id) he spent 1 year in US prison awaiting asylum. Now he has citizenship, his own business, family, and an amazing and inspiring story to share and learn from. To me life is just people being part of crazy shit caused by other people that makes great storytelling. Find analog codgers to adopt. They know great dirty jokes, can fix things and teach by example how to enjoy life.

In spite of the Asperger's I hope you will see more joy in life as you grow older. Youths intensity sometimes blinds one to what is important and what is not. Fortunately intelligence evolves into wisdom through lifes constant battering of a resiliant mind. Also be thankful for all the people that are "putting up" with you. Have a great day!

Lot's of good feedback. I did not want kids but fell in love with a woman who had one so I figured "Great, she's got what she wanted and that'll be that." Good kid but no desire for more. Well, something happened (or did not happen) in the personal responsibility department and we ended up having a child of our own. At first I was in shock and had alot of idiotic things to work through but when he was born all my issues evaporated and I feel like a new me was born that day too. I am different and better because of my son.

Back in olden days when people could walk and cook there were these people called parents who learned from their parents about the world around them-the plants, animals, seasons, sun and night sky. Man, were they lame.
