The only thing strange about the term 'observer' in QM is how many loony's (and some physicists) have interpreted it to mean "consciousness".

Observer in QM means "measurement apparatus".

Bohm made a great mistake in using loose language when talking about this in QM. The result is that we have a whole 'quantum conscious' new-age cult getting confused about physics.... and there are worse than the creationists.

You can NEVER convince people that technical analysis is not based on evidence. People just operate with too many cognitive biases and they are lousy at statistics.

Without reading any comments on this thread, I can guarantee that there is someone who claims to consistently make money using TA. What they do on average, I suspect the neither we (nor them) will ever know.

The biggest cognitive biases at work is Cherry Picking and the sharp-shooter fallacy. Most people are not being deceptive when they use these fallacies, they are just being human.

The times that I chose to point out the problems with TA I got responses worse than the most fanatical religious people. In my mind, the only meaningful response to criticism of TA is laughing from the lounge chair of your yacht cruising the Caribbean... I haven't seen it yet.

The entire religion is indicted by the crimes in its past. This tiny tiny incident is just a reminder.
Complaining about that some internet board isn't intellectual or serious enough is just ridiculous. If you want serious discussion then try posting on a normal type of forum.
What comments get attention and what don't is COMPLETELY arbitrary. I have wrote lengthy, detailed, awesome posts full of insight that get ignored while silly one liners get upvoted like crazy, there is no rhyme or reason.

That is ridiculous. That teacher isn't responsible for the 1000s of years of brutal rule by the Church in Europe and in the Americas! The church stands on its own for its evil. The teacher is just a tool.
