A motivated and interested GM is just as important to a good campaign as engaged players. If his attitude is affecting yours so much, tell him outright that you can't deal with it and need his help to sustain your own creativity and enjoyment.

If he can't see still can't see his way to some compromise -- he can be humurous without being disrespectful -- and you can't agree to a probationary period to give him a chance -- then you're completely justified in dis-inviting him from the campaign.

You might have a difficult time finding a DM and gaming group that will make playing this character fun. Don't confuse antagonistic with interesting.
