They can be brought on by stress, but they can also be very random and without triggers. Especially since you say this happened before in childhood, but has been increasing its frequency, that sounds a lot like panic disorder.

Ahem, this diagnosis brought to you by the Sopranos (seriously, your episodes sound/look exactly like his).

Sleep paralysis, anyone experience it ? by roonarin fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

Carl Sagan postulates that sleep paralysis is actually the reason people think there are alien abductions. That, combined with the fact that the number reported shooting up dramatically after the movie Visitors from Mars, seems pretty plausible.

Does anyone have a link to a transcript of this? I occasionally find Zizek difficult to comprehend, but always brilliant.

Imagine it's more like a stream of zombies coming from the forest, from behind the van, into the highway. The first few zombies would be impossible to see behind the van, but as they begin to file in, they're coming from every direction.

You should rewatch the show brohan. In the first scene where the old guy notices the zombies, there is literally 1 zombie, then 2. And they both wander from behind this van (that intersects perpendicularly from the forest), and then it cuts back to the sheriff, then some other stuff, and then when it pans up again, yeah, they're being swarmed by over a hundred. But there is a gradualness to that scene.

He didn't seem them only when they were so close. The first shot is them seeing 1, then 2, then 3 zombies. And they all wandered from behind this van. Then in the next shot, there is 20-50, then 50-100 and they're right on top of them.

1) It's known from the first season that the radiator on the RV has problems--the driver specifically references how he thought it was a bad idea to set out with the RV like that. (Radiators do indeed blow out, and it is more common on older cars.)

2) Even if it was a 120 mile trip, maybe they just had enough gas for 120 miles? They are taking three vehicles.

3) I believe the trade-off with the loudness of the bike is that he serves as a scout for the caravan (common, useful tactic). He was the one that was able to confirm that there was a way through the pileup on the highway. Also, the loudness of a bike wont be that great when the noise of an RV and another car in tow.

4) Yeah, the one guy with the binoculars goes on the roof (which seems to be his roll, as spotter, he's up there a lot). The rest were busy scavenging or looking for the girl. Also, if you look at the first scene where zombies appear, they come from behind a tall van (that would have obscured the vision of the spotter).

5) It's not like they planned on stopping, and any vocal signal system would probably also signal the zombies.

6) If you were actually watching, he cuts himself really severely on a broken down scrapped out car as he rushed to hide behind it.

7) I don't remember the kids ever exploring, they did have to scavenge, but once again there was a spotter who was able to detect the zombies before they got there. Both the kids hid when zombies were present, they weren't off exploring.

8) Sure, zombies can't smell. I mean, I honestly can't normally smell people farther than a foot away from me (unless they're freaky pungent for some reason). Can you smell someone hiding under a car five feet away from you? O.o

9) She was obviously panicking, and if there was a zombie around, I'd probably want a gun in my hand as well. Sometimes even when people know they just need to be quiet, it can be difficult to do.

10) Wtf is a 50-year old, 130 lb. lady going to do against two full grown zombie men? Like she's in shape to be running through the jungle fighting off zombies? And of course one guy goes--as many people as possible should stay together.

11) Refer to point 10.

12) I don't think you actually known when they set out, I believe it just cuts to a shot of them hunting around in the forest. Obviously though, they wouldn't want to go out there until it was very very light out. And yes, obviously the blond showed she doesn't have the cool to hold onto a gun.

13) Duh, they stick close together so if a zombie tries to attack them, everyone will be able to help fight/see it. If they were all spread out individually, then one of them could get bitten before anyone else would know.

14) The church megaphone didn't have a microphone. Those things are sold pre-programmed with a church bell, which is also why it was on a timer. Duh.

15) I think the point of this was that she has pretty much lost hope in finding her daughter--all she feels she can do is pray. Obviously the girl is lost in who knows how many square miles of zombie infested forest. I'd feel pretty desperate/resigned too.

16) ....Uh!? This has been one of the most important story arcs from the beginning of the first season. The moral implications of adopting your friend's family when you think he's dead, and what you can do ethically when he comes back even though you still love them.

17) Refer to 16, once again he's not a man with many options, and I would definitely want at least one person to know why I ran away from the group.

18) I think this is similar to point 15. They all feel pretty hopeless at this point in regards to finding the girl.

19) Man, you repeat yourself a lot.

20) I've been approached (especially when I was young) by animals in the wild. If you're smaller than they are, and they can tell you're juvenile, they probably don't give too big a fuck. And yes, the line of sight with where the shot hit, and where it hit the boy (who was also wearing a camoflauge shirt), and considering that the adults were way farther back iin the underbrush. And hunting accidents are actually quite common. My father got hit in the cheek by a handgun that three hooligans were playing with in a forest 3 miles away. Bullets go fast and far and not always where intended.

I love this show, and I think a lot of your complaints were gimmicky and short-sighted. Just because it's not how you (in your objective role as a viewer) would react, you assume it's stupidly or poorly written. Especially consider point 6--you obviously weren't paying attention if you didn't know how he injured himself. Also consider point 4--if you were watching the show attentively, you'd know he's always the guy with their one pair of binoculars that goes on top of the RV.

Yeah, it's also a known fact that if you've read something you've written too much, you'll almost never be able to catch smaller mistakes after reading it too many times (such as the really difficult to notice accidental "the" instead of "to"). After you've proof-read it twice, maybe three times, the best bet is to have someone else, or two other people read it.

Sure. In the third paragraph, there's this gem: "If that fails the patient can claim the have chronic pain." I believe "the" should be "to".

In the fifth paragraph, there's this less offensive typo: "Each patient is limited to 2oz per day." When you're using an abbreviation for a unit of measurement it's usually separated from the numeral with a period after it. 2oz should be "2 oz." (nevermind that abbreviations shouldn't be used in formal writing anyway, and that if it's a number less than 10 you should write it out...)

In the third to last paragraph there's this: "Including, trying to identify patients that have already purchased on any given day." I don't know why that comma is there, and furthermore it's not a sentence.

..So, yeah.

Anyone else bothered that author obviously couldn't bother to proof-read his article even once before posting it? I think it's this sort of image the medical marijuana community does not need at all.
