When I competed with my Anschutz we used Eley Tenex or red box as we called it- for practice we used the Eley black box- that was 30 years ago though.

I use Hornady Critical Defense because it has good expansion but there are several others that have similar results. Check out these vids. I may switch to the Winchester PDX-1 because of this result.

If you go 380, I'd definitely go LCP over the Bersa Thunder 380 (I have both,) as it can fit in a pocket holster with an extra mag unseen in your pant pocket. Others to consider for IWB are the LC9, the PX4 subcompact, and the Bersa Ultra Compact pro series. The PX4 is probably my favorite as it conceals well, has 13 rounds, and has features I feel comfortable with like a decocker and manual safety.

I have to agree with this. I own both a Bersa 380 and an LCP 380, and I'd carry the LCP before the Bersa simply because the LCP fits in my front pocket with a hoslter and a second mag. I'd have to carry the Bersa IWB and for the same size and carry position I'd rather go with a 9mm. It's a nice little gun though- I've had no problems with it.

I honestly dismissed the brand before I found out Stoeger is owned by Beretta. The Couger is a very good deal at Academy- $399 including 4 mags. It almost sounds too good to be true. Can anyone relate any good or bad experiences with them?

How do you like the P220 Compact? Just got mine and it's very accurate. I did find it would not feed Golden Saber HP's though and after a google search found that others had issue with that ammo and sigs- they stick in the mags. Mine was a little bigger then I expected, in fact it's about the same size as an XD45 4 inch with the 10 round mag in.

Your boyfriend is being unsafe and disrespectful to you by allowing this to happen. Don't let yourself be labeled as the asshole in this- sounds like you're the only responsible one. As a last resort, threaten to report him to the police if he doesn't comply. Maybe the thought of losing his permit to carry will make him respect your house rules.

I understand what you're saying but this whole case has made me quite cynical about the motives of leftwing press and politicians. They have purposely twisted and manipulated the facts of this case right from the start: creative editing of 911 tapes; using old pictures of Trayvon, etc. So I fully expect the leftwing politicians to now jump on board with anti-gun legislation. I'm an independent that leans left but the way this whole thing has been handled by the press makes me think about signing up for the NRA. Upvote for your reasoned post.

Same here, and I have one of these on it. I use the blackhawk size one pocket holster which holds the extra mag with a little modification.

Do yourself a favor and get the Lee Turret press if you plan on loading more than one caliber. The turrets are interchangeable so you can set your dies and just interchange the entire turret for the next caliber. It can also be set to do progressive if you want.

I had similar issues, I'm right handed and my groups were consistently lower left. I decided to buy an airsoft pistol and practice in my garage by hanging a target on a pillow filled box. Anyways, after trying many suggestions regarding trigger finger position and grip techniques I found what solved my issue by using the straight-thumbs grip and gripping harder with the outer hand that wraps around the inside hand if that makes any sense- this allowed me to somewhat relax the under hand which is my trigger hand. That and I always follow-through and try to remain on target after I fire. It seems to be working- I took my Sig P220 to the range yesterday and put them all in the 9 and 10 ring. I'm no expert but that seems to work for me.

Wasn't the amount of force used disproportionate to the threat though? Do we really want people using their guns because they get popped in the nose? This is why people who conceal carry need to take extra caution not to get in situations that could result in altercation because now there is a gun in play. What really bugs me is if this had been a police officer involved in the shooting, he would have immediately been placed on suspension, had his gun taken and been investigated- this guy gets to go home the same night with his gun. I'm all for conceal carry and castle doctrine but this guy was an idiot who made poor choices and someone ended up dead because of it.

I have a CZ75 Phantom which looks very similar but has a polymer lower. If yours shoots anything like mine, you'll be very pleased- it's quickly become one of my favorite pistols and is very accurate.
