Actually your analogy is completely irrelevant to the issue being discussed. You are in actuality embracing the numbers game (It is troubling that you do not realize it).
I'll explain: Anarchists who identify with feminist ideals (likely a majority of all anarchists today) are not in any way claiming that they are one and the same in comparison to mainstream (statist) feminist members. In reality, they are being philosophically consistent. "As anarchism is a political philosophy that opposes all relationships of power, it is inherently feminist." Do not confuse the mainstream (statist) feminist methods of achieving equality with the anarcha-feminist way of reaching it.

I hear you. True, most individuals who identify as being "feminists" probably have statist sympathies; Sadly, most people in the world embrace statist ideals. This is highly unfortunate. For quite some time, great anarcha-feminist philosophers (such as Lucy Parsons, Emma Goldman, Kate Austin, Voltairine de Cleyre, Moses Harman, ect) have not been given the attention (to say the least) in academia that they truly deserve. Why? Well, there are many reasons. But one key reason is the fact that most individuals in society are unfortunately statist when it comes to their political beliefs. That does not necessarily mean that feminism - by definition = adherence to coercive practices to achieve equality. Just because there are many feminist philosophers who have statist sympathies does not mean that by sheer force of numbers they get the last word on the definition of feminism. All individuals mentioned above most definitely suffered greatly for their defense of anarcha-feminist ideals.

Great point: "Anarchist groups are feminist groups, amongst many other things -I'm sorry if this was unclear." Ok, now I address this inquiry: "A rational person would not equate feminism to anarchy because there is absolutely no indication that there are feminists groups that oppose using the state as a means to an end." Are you implying that there are no "anarcha-feminist" groups in existence? Then (with all due respect), it is confirmed that you indeed have missed a lot. Why? Simple. Type in a search under "anarcha feminism." I will assist in this process by providing a link to anarcha-feminist groups/resources: http://anarchalibrary.blogspot.com/p/links.html

Peace

As L. Susan Brown stated: “As anarchism is a political philosophy that opposes all relationships of power, it is inherently feminist." In terms of understanding the long-standing connection between anarchism and feminism, some on this list would benefit from reading the works of individuals such as: Lucy Parsons, Emma Goldman, and Voltairine de Cleyre. Thank you for your time.
