Yeah but it does that by saying "#CONNECTION ERROR" after a while. This was just plain not connecting in the first place. I'm assuming the page was shut down, though I haven't checked since.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that the last block before the fence needs to be transparent. I tend to use top-slabs or reversed stairs myself.

Do use the fencepost/pressureplate trick, but fire the items into a water stream that pushes them onto the pressure plate. This way you're guaranteed not to get any items stuck.

When I plug my APC into my computer via USB I get a battery icon in my tray, as though my PC is now a laptop.

Then I changed my Windows power options to hibernate at 20% battery, so if my UPS loses power for too long and the battery level goes critical, my machine will shut itself down.

All done in Windows control panel, I didn't have to install any software at all. Just "plug and play".

As an owner of an APC UPS, it's not RJ45. It's wider with 10 conductors instead of 8 (though only 4 are used) and the plug is keyed in a certain way.

I don't know why they don't just use a standard USB-A to USB-B cable (the sort USB printers have), but my guess is that the plug's unused conductors might actually be RS232 serial, to be accessed by a different cable.

I'm admin on a 100 player server, mcau.org. We have very good hardware, decent plugins and we know what we're doing. The server runs 24/7 and is rarely down.

We still get this "Read timed out" issue occasionally, and we don't know the cause. When it happens, we shrug and restart the server.

It's been an issue for months, afaik there's no fix.
