Liberal and not white. It does annoy me when people associate the actions of the individual as characteristic of their phenotype. I will agree that some cultures have some fucked up things, but the people aren't all bad, just that facet of culture and those that enforce it.

You are right about the dating world. I would say that it isn't your responsibility to not be offensive up to the point at which it becomes common courtesy, like not calling me a nigger. The problem with offensiveness is that everyone has a different line they draw for what is unacceptable. It's easier if you are nice to people who haven't done anything to deserve your scorn.

For something like this, it probably isn't even possible to come to a conclusion, since most of the involved variables aren't even measurable.

It's a difference behind reasoning. Saying you've never been attracted to someone of race X and don't think you will be is different than saying "I don't date race X (nor will I ever). Especially since a large amount of attraction is just based on who you spend the most time around.

TL;DR: Human sexuality is really fucking complex. You don't get to choose who you're attracted to, but you do get to choose your words.

The blame doesn't always fall on the consumer. GGW gets sued every once and a while for not verifying the age of someone in a video. I think there's an assumption that a corporation is not supposed to fuck that sort of thing up.

I would say that skin color is a much smaller step than the gender of the person you are attracted to. But I do get the argument on an intellectual level.

Anyway, personal preference is always a sticky subject. I wouldn't call it conscious racism, but it's still fucking stupid. I'm mixed, so I don't have the insider perspective, but I don't understand how someone can be attracted to only one race. Women come in all shapes and personalities, it seems silly to deny yourself the experience of all of them because of someone's skin color. It's worse when they actually acknowledge that they're doing it.

It sounds like this is a bigger deal in the queer community, though.
